The Best Viewpoint In Nepal For The Mountain View

The globe knows Nepal is famous for outdoor activities like trekking, hiking, tour, and climbing. Throughout any adventure in the mountain, the terrain can see the Himalayas from any corner but still worth to climb accurate the viewpoint for the better sceneries of the snowcapped mountains and the alpine valley. Most of the viewpoints are out of the main trekking route and need to do some extra hike but I give my word that sceneries will not disappoint you. During the peak trekking season, most of these viewpoints are occupied by trekkers, and some of them not able to climb during the off-season (December to March) because of a lot of snow on the way.
Kala Patthar Summit (5,645 m), Everest Region
Kala Patthar viewpoint, Iconic viewpoint of the Everest region in Khumbu valley. The 5645 m above sea level mount is fully covered by rock and boulder and often shielded by snow but always freezing cold. The famous landmark placed south side of the Everest base camp and foot of the technical Pumori peak. Kala Patthar is very famous to sights Mount Everest and the entire Khumbu Mahalangur Himalayan range. 90 percent of the traveler’s ascent to Kala Patthar from Gorakshep, the highest sleeping place in Everest region trek, and the nearest human hamlet of the Everest Base Camp. Gorakshep to Kala Patthar summit is not that far but as we trekking on the high altitude it takes around 3 hours upward and 90 minutes descend. The entire trek to Kala Patthar arranges absolutely amazing sceneries of the Himalayas and glaciers.
Awi Peak (5,245 m), Everest Region
This stunning viewpoint is located on Cho La Pass Trek Route a few hours outside of the Lobuche village. Since it is outside of the main route very less tourist climb and it recommends for the photography of the Himalayas. The viewpoint is specialized for the parallel view of the mountain namely Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Baruntse, Pumori, and some other popular trekking peak which are regularly climbed by a mountaineer. During peak trekking season often see other folk continuing their adventure to Lobuche peak. Awi Peak trip can be organized from Lobuche or Zonglha village. If any trekkers planning to have an acclimatization day at Dughla village then the best option to ascend this viewpoint and then sleep lower altitude at Dughla.
Nangkartshang Viewpoint (5,080 m), Everest Region
Impressive viewpoint in the Everest region located above beautiful Sherpa village, Dingboche. 5,080 m summit is being a favorite day hike for the high altitude trekkers. The viewpoint is about 5 Km distance from the human hamlet of the Dingboche and Periche. Average trekkers complete 3 miles trek around 5 hours hike from Dingboche to Nangkartshang and back to Dingboche village. From Dingboche village straight upward trek on the grassy hill and upon reaching little ridge with ancient old-style stupa follow branch trail. Our trek to Nangkartshang viewpoint steeply up on the long edge. The trail still Dingboche viewpoint is regularly shingle and grit, beyond the Buddhist praying flag poll sturdy uphill on the small unpaved path. Also, most of the trekkers finish their day trip at the Iron poll (Dingboche Viewpoint) then turn back to lodge. The whole hike on the mountain terrain provides impressive sceneries of the Himalayas and valley of the alpine terrain. As you get higher the air became thinner and the mountain around you looks massifs and impressive. This day tour helps a lot to acclimatize with the present atmosphere and make it easier to breathe on the Gorakshep and Lobuche. From the summit clear get the finest view of the Mount Makalu above Cho Polu peak, hotel Kongde view and Kongde peak, Ama Dablam, Baruntse, and Cho La pass trail next to Awi peak (5,245 m).
Gokyo Ri/Peak (5,357 m), Everest Region
The milestone viewpoint sat west side of the longest Himalayas on the head of the Gokyo hamlet. The mountaineer and regular hiker believed best places to take a picture of the panoramic Himalayas that includes four 8,000 m peaks, turquoise lake and moraine, and glacier. The view of Mountain Shangri-La is impressive and superior.
It is about 2-3 hours abruptly ascent on the pebble from the lodge to Gokyo Ri/Peak. The only mode to reach this vantage point by feet and most hikers set their way after Lukla flight, any of this trekking route Everest high passes trek, Cho La pass, Gokyo Lake, and Renjo la pass reached to Gokyo Ri.
Chukung/Chhukung Ri (5,550 m), Everest Region
Chukung/Chhukung Ri, the rocky peak sat on the foot of the rocky Mount Lhotse in the Imja valley. The viewpoint is famous for the altitude acclimatization before proceeding the journey to Everest base camp or Kongma la pass or Island peak climb or Amphu Lapcha. Unofficially there is two vantage point most of the travelers climb to lower one at height of 5,546 m and the trail is clear beyond here unclear path on the black rocky ridge to next one. The next viewpoint probably 200 m more than the lower one, it takes around 40 minutes from official Chukung Ri. The path is pretty tiny on the rock and boulder, the ridge is decorated with five color Buddhist flags, the view is amazing and close-up sights of Makalu and the best view of Mount Ama Dablam.
Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,580 m), Everest Region
A side trek to Ama Dablam base camp takes approximately 4-5 hours from Pangboche. During the climbing season March/April/May, a lot of travelers stay at the base camp on the tented camp also some of them stay at the lodge around 100 m below the mountaineering camp. Only one basic tea house available at Ama Dablam base camp and it often closed down except the climbing season. Most of the trekkers organize the trip from Pangboche village. The route from Pangboche village to Ama Dablam base camp is a pretty interesting trek on the grassy pasture and mountain terrain. From Pangboche village follow branch trail and descending to Imja River after that trailhead on the yak pasture to Ama Dablam Base Camp. The Ama Dablam base camp day hike offers excellent mountains vista of the Khumbu Himalayan range including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Lobuche Peak, Cholatse, Imja Peak, Kognde Ri, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam.
Kongde View Hotel (4,250 m), Everest Region
Kongde view hotel, the highest altitude deluxe hotel in Nepal and it is in the Everest region that gives lifetime travel experience. It provides a wide-range Himalayas view with an impressive alpine valley, the best view of picturesque Namche Bazar. There are two different ways to reach this luxurious lodge AKA viewpoint either fly over the meandering Dudh Koshi valley by shared or private helicopter from Kathmandu or Lukla. Hillary Memorial Viewpoint (4,150 m), Everest Region
An amazing viewpoint perched above twin Sherpa hamlet of Khunde and Khumjung. A day trip can be organized from Namche Bazar, Khumjung and Khunde, Khunde village is the nearest village from the standpoint and it about 60-minute uphill trek. Three different ancient Buddhist stupas built at the top and it honors of the Hillary family memorial who died in a plane crash in 1975. Pungyen/Puggen Gompa (4,100 m), Manaslu Trek
Pungyen/Punggen Gompa, the gorgeous viewpoint en route to Manaslu trek, it located in the midst of the Shyala and Samagaun village on the foot of Mount Manaslu. It is a famous day trip in Manalsu circuit trek and most people do this side trek from Samagaon. But the still best and nearest human settlement of the Pungyen Gompa is Shyala village. A trail to Pungyen Gompa is interesting that covered larch trees line, thundering glacier river, and grassy yak pasture on the mountain terrain. We organize Pungyen side trek from both Shyala and Samagaon village. Ice Lake (4,530 m), Annapurna Circuit Trek
Ice Lake (Khicho Lake) situated on the head of Braga village en route of Annapurna Circuit trek. Most of the trekkers hike to Ice Lake either from Manang or Braga village. On the rest or acclimatize day in Manang or Braga/Braka, the best way to acclimatize your body with exploring this gorgeous place. The main trail connected Via Braga village and it lingering strenuous uphill to Khicho Lake. The path is covered by different mountain vegetation specially sea-buckthorn trees and some of the mountain herbs. Often passes stone rest places and series of the stone cairn both tiny and big. Nearly half-way of the journey can drink a cup of hot drinks and also possible to eat some light cuisines like soups and some bread and can buy a bottle of drinking water. Another trail straight leading from Manang village on the grassy pasture, hardy find the proper trail and it recommends travel with experienced trekking guide.
Poon Hill (3,210 m), Annapurna Region
The hill station is known as the best viewpoint in the Annapurna region and a great place to sights the Annapurna massif and Dhaulagiri. All most every Annapurna trek comes to cross the Poon Hill. There are two different ways to reach Poon Hill’s viewpoint most people travel from Nayapul which is crowd throughout the year and another route from Beni is a more authentic trekking experience and fewer people on the route. The trekkers have to halt overnight either Ghorepani or Phulbari village then trek to Poon hill viewpoint to watch sunrise or sunset on the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain range. Trekkers have to obtain the two different trekking permits to get Poon Hill Annapurna conservation area fees (Rs-3000) and TIMs card (Rs-2000).
