Getting There and Away
If anyone wants to do 6 days Tamang heritage trekking trail then travel to Gatlang from Kathmandu by private jeep or local bus. The bus leaves 06:00 from Kathmandu and delivers around 3/4 pm at Gatlang village. The public bus will be crowded and stopping frequently en route to pick-up and dropped the people. Then possible to travel Gatlang by private four-wheel jeep which takes around 7/8 hours. The basic accommodation is available with both common and shared bathroom plus solar or a gas hot shower. Most of the lodge is run by family and also have light in the room for the night.
The meals along with the Tamang heritage also much like another trekking route where most of the common trekking foods are available at a reasonable cost. The local chef prepares all the food with organic gardening vegetables. But in this area, the Tibetan bread and mo are totally different than another major trekking route.

When should do Tamang Heritage Trail Trek
Tamang heritage trail Trek is a lower altitude trek in Nepalese Himalayas can do from September to May but still, October/November is the best of the year. During the winter possible to walk on snow in Nagthali Danda but it offers more mountains view any other time than a year.

Daily itinerary

Once you provides us your Kathmandu arrival details, we pick you up from on arrival gate of Tribhuvan international airport. The airport representative stay standby with your name on placard. Then you'll be welcomed with fresh garland after that short driven to your hotel. After room check-in take your own time for relax and leisure.

Tamang Heritage Trail Trek begins from Kathmandu with a hilarious drive on zig-zag hilly road to tranquility Gatlang village. A 7 hours' drive on the Pasang Lhamu Highway offers dramatic sceneries of mountains, culture, and varied scenes. Upon arrival Dhunche village entering into the Langtang national park then 2 more hours jerk drive on switchback road to Gatlang village via Bahun Danda. A drive exposes spectacular mountain view of Manalu region, Ganesh Himal and Langtang mountain range ahead.

About 5-6 hours up and down trekking bring us to Tatopani, the hot spring. Our trailhead descending into the Gatlang village and enjoy to explore the vibrate Tamang culture. Downhill trail continues along the small stream and crops field to Thanbuchet and passes Chimile hydropower water dame. We then cross the wooden and suspension bridge on the Chilime Khola. From here climb up into the several small villages and farmland to Tatopani that literally means hot spring. The water came-out straight from the underground, the local and Nepalese believed it help remove the pain from the body. There are two different hot water pool with water tap right below the dense forest. You may also dip into the hot water and ease your muscle pain and aches.

After breakfast follow the uphill path into the forest then passing Brimdang village to Nagthali Ghyang Viewpoint (3,165 m). Throughout the day, we ascend on the wilderness trail that offers a magnificent view of the valley and layer of the Smokey hills below. We also visit tiny old Buddhist Gompa at Brimdang village. While hiking into the forest might spot the monkey and distinct species of the birds. The last part of the trail occupied by dense rhododendron forest and it looks so colorful during the March and April. After arriving at Nagthali Danda and room check-in then short side trip along the Chauri Danda as higher we raised, get more mountain view and spectacularly varied landscapes. This ridge is the highest elevated place in the Tamang Heritage Trekking trail, From here get panoramic mountain vista of the Paldoe Peak, Langtang Lirung, and some of the Tibetan peaks.

The day begins with observing glorious sunrise on the Himalayas, our walk leads into the dense rhododendron and pine forest to beautiful Thuman village, on sloppy mountains. As soon as arriving Bhote Koshi river that follows from Tibet the descending section of the hike ends. In-fact Tibet border is few miles far from this iron bridge. Possible to see the local people passing our trail with bunches of Chinese products. From here steep climb up into the forest and marvelous terraces to Briddim village. Briddim has both guesthouse and homestay, and homestay experience is highly appreciated because tourist expenses will be sharing to more household or family. Spending nights with the local people kitchen will give you true Nepalese cultural experience but still have a private room for sleep.

Today short and an easy trek down to Syabrubeshi, it about 3-4 hours downhill trekking. There is two different way of getting back Syaprubesi. The morning will spend with exploring the picturesque Briddim Village and the Gompa then we descend through pine forest and Bhote Koshi River to the Syaprubesi. The Upper path via Khamjing village is more spectacular than the original route. Before reaching the Syaprubesi our trail join with the classical Langtang valley trek route. From Briddim possible to extend your hike to Langtang Valley Trek that requires 5 more days. The rest of the days can spend with relaxing or buying local products Tamang handicraft or visit Chilime hydropower station under the huge boulder.

We have about 8 hours' drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu, a drive let you experience marvelous sceneries of varied terraces, layers of the hills, villages, and glimpse of the mountains. Along the way might stick to the traffic because the large truck supplies the goods between Nepal and China. Upon arrival at Kathmandu bus station transfer to your hotel then farewell dinner organic authentic Nepali Nepalese restaurant with live cultural shows.
