Renjo La Pass Gokyo Valley Trek

You will be receiving from the arrival gate of Tribhuvan international airport. The airport representative will be waiting for you with your name on the signboard. Then transfer to your accommodation place by private transport. You have free time until the official meeting is held in the evening.

Early in the morning drive to the Domestic Terminal of Tribhuvan international airport. Lukla flight savored the mountain panorama and diverse landscapes throughout the flight journey. You will be a thrilling landing experience in the Lukla airstrip. We collect the luggage then walk through the forest and villages to Phakding village. A colorful trail to Phakding village is mostly descended, and it offers a stunning view of the lush green valley below high mountains. After arriving at Phakding village short side trek to a nearby monastery and remote Sherpa village, Thulo Gumela.

The exciting day of Renjo La pass Gokyo valley trek, the trek starts from Phakding and easy climb by the riverside. We enter Sagarmatha national park and check trek permits bypassing Manjo village. We nonstop cross high suspension bridges as well as twin Hillary Bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. Namche Bazar to Thamel village route is moderately easy with a short ascent from Bhote Koshi River to Thame village. We pass many Chortens, Stupas, and Monasteries also relishing panoramic mountain vista in conch shape green valley. It is about 5-6 hours trekking from Namche Bazar to Thame village. Thamel village is Everest summiteer residential most of the youth have summited Mount Everest. This is a classic trading route to Tibet, the Tibetan trader transporting goods seasonally. From Thame village can do a full-day trip to Sundar/Sunder peak and also visit Thame monastery. Sunder/Sundar peak day trip would be good high altitude acclimatization before ascending to the Renjo La pass.

The trek towards Renjo la pass and Gokyo valley on the alpine and mountainous terrain. The trailhead north valley and passing seasonal human settlement along the Bhote Koshi river. From Dingjung village branch trail lead to Nangpa-la pass (5,805 m) and then a short uphill trail brings Lungden village. We hardly see other tourists and regularly spot high-altitude animals and birds. Lunden has about 5 basic lodges and it only opens during the peak trekking season unless informing them while heading up.

Crossing Renjo la pass is long and tough in Renjo la pass Gokyo lake trek. We eat an early breakfast then leave from the lodge with sufficient drinking water and bites for the walk. From the lodge to the Renjo la pass is steeply climbing up and the altitude quickly gains. We then passed a small pond before the summit of the Renjo la. Upon arrival in Renjo la (5,360 m), the wider mountain range and glacier valley appear in front. The immerse Gokyo valley is walled by high mountain Makalu (8,485 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Everest (8,848 m), Cho Oyu (8,201 m), Cholatse (6,440 m), Taboche (6,367 m), Gyangchung (7,952 m), etc. After capturing photos and relishing the magnificent view follow the steady downhill trail to Gokyo Lake. The lodge is located eastern bank of the Dudh Pokhari.

Extra day in Gokyo Lake is enough to explore the wilderness glacier valley afar the Dudh Pokhari. Side trek to Ngozumpa Ri is a great opportunity to appreciate the glacier, lake, and close sights of icefall and Himalayas. Day tour to Ngozumpa Ri takes around 7-8 hours round trip but it is a completely worth trip for the adventure seekers. Leaving from the lodge with plenty of drinking water and packing lunch for the day.
We have early breakfast in the morning then the hike starts on the moraine of Ngozumpa Glacier. Bypassing blue and green fourth and fifth Gokyo Lake on walled mountains valley. The trail is fairly easy till 5th Gokyo Lake then a steep climb up on the mountain. The backdrop view of the large glacier, mountain, and all the Gokyo Lakes is simply awesome. The terminal of the route is rocky and the summit makes the trip worthwhile. It offers the best view of Cho Oyu, the sixth Gokyo lake, Icefall, and turquoise lake. After the taken picture and relishing a long way back to Gokyo Lake for the overnight.

Gokyo Ri (5360 m) and Renjo La pass offer a similar view but Gokyo Peak is the iconic and milestone of this trek. The Gokyo peak is located on the ridge above Gokyo Lake. It is about 2-3 hours of uphill trekking for the average walker.
Gokyo Ri reflects a post-card view of the glacier valley, turquoise lakes, and the high mountains. Gokyo Ri/Peak highlights phenomenon view of four eight thousand meters mountain Mount Everest (8,848 m), Cho Oyu (8,188 m), Makalu (8,463 m), and Lhotse (8,516 m). Also, get the finest scenery of the entire Gokyo valley and walled snow peaks and green-blue lakes on the foot. We now get down to the lodge then after breakfast trek continuous walking along with the Gokyo Lake second and first. We then walking on the yak pasture passing Machhermo to reach the Dole village.

A trail led downhill into the dense rhododendron and pine forest to Phorte Thanga, often spots Lophophorus Impejanus. We then climb to Mong La pass, you will have a picturesque view of Tengboche Monastery yard of mount Ama Dablam. We keep descend on the hills, the trail exposes diverse landscapes and Himalayas to Kyanjuma village. We see more tourists here because we joint the Everest base camp trek route. Further trek on the level path with passes Buddhist sites Chorten, Stupas, Mani wall, Praying wheel and sculpture rock to Namche Bazar.

On the last stage, your Renjo La Pass trek, heading back to Lukla village where we catch the Kathmandu flight. Mostly walking downhill with crossing several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. Before exit from Sagarmatha national park at Manjo village get the last glimpse of Almighty Mount Everest a few hundreds meter down from Namche. We leave Milky River behind us from Ghat then ascend to Lukla village throughout the Sherpa hamlet and little forest.

In the morning short walk to Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla. We take an earlier flight to Kathmandu, a 45-minute flight considers a scenic flight. It offers an Ariel Mountain view and a meandering river with colorful diverse landscapes. On arrival at Kathmandu airport transfer to your hotel. Stroll around Thamel Street and alley then evening we host farewell dinner.
