Daily itinerary

As per schedule/program, we receive you from your hotel or Pokhara airport then drive towards Banthanti village. A scenic drive continues on the blacktop road till Nayapul then further drive endures on jerk and dust road to Banthanti. On arrival, Banthanti village tied your shoestring and stretch the body for the hike. The walk goes into the forest of varied vegetation where possible to encounter the monkey and multiple birds.
A 4 hours trekking stretch-out in dense rhododendron forest that exposes wildlife and crossing the crystalize streams. Upon arrival Ghorepani, you will have a panoramic mountain view of the Annapurna Himalayan range and Mount Dhaulagiri.

Early morning side trek to Poon Hill viewpoint to see the sunrise on the Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, and several other mountains. It is about a 50-minute uphill walk to Poon Hill viewpoint, the Poon Hill route contains a stone-stair path inside the tall and dwarf rhododendron forest. Poon Hill Viewpoint, the most beautiful hill station to observe snowcapped mountains. Enjoy to see stunning Mountain View of western Nepal approximately 20 mountains. From Poon Hill trek back to Ghorepani then after delightful breakfast, the trek resume with a gentle uphill climb and descends through heavy rhododendron forest to Tadapani via Banthanti. The route offers a wide range of landscapes on foot of mountain range, also passing a couple of local tea shops where we stopping for lunch. Tadapani village has around 8 basic tea house that offers basic accommodation with share a bathroom.

After breakfast trek starts descending into the mixed vegetation forest with enjoying a close view of Machhapuchhare, Annapurna south, Hiuchuli, and numerous other snow peak. Around 3 hours hike brings us Ghandruk village where we can do Gurung culture excursion including visit local museum after that around 4 hours' drive to Pokhara. A drive passes enthralling landscapes of green and yellow rice fields and along the Modi River to Bhirethanti village then smoothly drive-on to Pokhara.

Accessing Pokhara from Kathmandu

There are several options to reach Pokhara from Kathmandu, for your idea kindly go through the below information.

Tourist Bus: Daily tourist bus services available from Kathmandu by 7:00 am nearby Thamel, the bus journey is completely scenic and worth of one time. It will be around 8 hours journey to Pokhara and the bus halt a few places for the toilet and meals. The bus arrives around the afternoon in the Pokhara and it cost USD10 each head for standard tourist bus and Greenline bus USD25 Per person and lunch included.

Private Transport: Getting Pokhara by private vehicle is more comfortable than the tourist bus and a relatively bit short journey than the bus as well. As it is private trips can stop transport at convenient places for the pictures. There are different prices for the mode of transport like Car cost USD130, Jeep Cost U$D180 & Van [Hiace] USD200.

Flight: From Kathmandu to Pokhara flights are operating from morning to evening and multiple airlines providing services. It is a 20-min scenic flight, you may choose your preference fly time from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is the best way to kick-off the traffic and it cost USD120 per head for a single way.


Where to start and end 3-Days Poon Hill Ghandruk Trek

The first section of the drive contains a blacktop road and driving on foot of Annapurna mountains range till Nayapul. The best season for Poon Hill Trek

Poon Hill Trek- the best available short trek in Nepalese Himalayas, the path widening from 1400 m to 3210 m above sea level and it offers close and panoramic mountains vista of the Annapurna mountain range. The Poon Hill trek can do from September to the beginning of June, during the autumn (September/October/November) the weather is pretty good with mild temperature. The scenery looks like a canvas that contains meandering river, green & yellow landscapes, pristine forest, and high snowcapped mountain range. The blue sky above the valley dominates an entire staging.
The spring is highly recommended for trekking around the Poon Hill and Ghandruk, the mountain has thick snow and also the entire forest is colorful because of the blooming of rhododendrons and magnolia. The weather also perfect and the sceneries always spectacular. Still possible to do the trek from December to February, the temperature drop in negative and possible to walk on fresh snow. From June to early September is the monsoon period in Nepal, the grass is relatively tall along Poon Hill Ghandruk trek and also finds bloodsucker leeches.


Ghorepani Poon Hill and Ghandruk trek permit cost?

Any international trekkers have to obtain Ghorepani Poon Hill trek permits before reaching the first checkpoint. Two permits are required for Poon Hill trek, Annapurna conservation area fees, and Trekking information management system, both permits cost Rs-4000/5000. The FIT can buy Annapurna trekking permits in Kathmandu (Nepal Tourism Board, Brikuti Mandap) and Pokhara (Nepal Tourism Board, Damside) and for the organizer the local agency arranged. Both the permits are one time use.
