Daily itinerary

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu international airport receiving by your trek guide with fresh wreath then transfer to your hotel. Your trek guide stays standby at the airport with your name on the signboard. After arriving the hotel have own time until official meeting an evening. An evening meeting with your trek guide and brief about the Mesokanto La Pass Trek.

The drive begins early in the morning from Kathmandu, smooth drive end up Besisahar in 5-6 hours. The drive offers breathless mountain vista, countryside, and Nepalese culture. The drive beyond the commercial Besisahar is totally bumpy along the wild Marshyandi River. It often passes picturesque Nepalese villages and wild gorge also offers a magnificent view of the waterfall. Today journey complete with 10 hours' drive from Kathmandu to Chame

Chame, the capital of Manang district also commercial town for entire Manang valley before leave Chame visit natural hot spring on the bank of the river. Enjoy a close view of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II from Chame. Now, trailhead into the gorge and pine forest also crossing some bridges as well as see the large alpine farm of Manang. The trail is slightly ascending and the valley opens up upon reach Dukur Pokhara. From here we following the northeast trail and walking east bank of Marshyandi River to Upper Pisang.

After breakfast leaving Tibetan style flat roof Upper Pisang village and gentle downhill trek into the pine forest also visit green lake middle of the forest. Also, glimpse distinct birds and shadow of the mountains. The walk passes traditional mani walls and then cross suspension bridge after that steeply climbing to Gyaru village on spurs. The tiny village has beautiful Buddhist stupa as well as enjoy to see the magnificent view of Annapurna mountain range and the valley. The long and physically demanding day trips recommend climbing Ice Lake and Milarepa cave. Then late evening sits down in the café and watches a documentary with ships of hot drinks.

After breakfast begins trek from Manang village, the scenery is stunning. After crossing the suspension bridge on Marshyandi village, we climb up on the dwarf pine forest to Khangsar village, the last high in human inhabitants of Annapurna trek. We leaving vegetation behind us from Tare gompa, an old Buddhist temple and upon arrival Shree Kharka room check-in and then after lunch side trek to Upper Khangsar village. Have breathless scenery of the mountains and the alpine territory.

We following a small level trail on the sloppy mountains, the distance between Shree Kharka and Tilicho base camp is only 4-5 Km but almost 500 m altitude gain in 3-4 hours trekking. We are trekking on barren lands bottom of the mountains and the of the beaten trekking track provides exceptional mountains view which is surrounded route and Tilicho base camp. The limited tea house is available and your guide selects the best for the overnight. After lunch and room check-in short warm-up walking to the nearest viewpoint for the acclimatization.

We begin the trek early in the morning from the lodge, we have a pretty long and tough trek from Tilicho base camp to Numa Phu Kharka. We eat hot and delicious breakfast before leaving the lodge and carry pack-lunch with sufficient drinking water for the fuel. We continuously ascent uphill from the lodge to Tilicho Lake, the close mountain view makes your day special. Upon complete the uphill trek, the turquoise Tilicho Lake appears in the front with information board also seasonal teashop in there. Beyond Tilicho lake hardy sees another tourist, the trek continues a side of the lake often have snow around there also walking on around 5000 m. Our hike keeps going and a short climb brings us to the top which called Mesokanto pass (5200 m). The local tea shop to Mesokanto pass trail offers the best Mountain View on the fresh air from the summit we trek descent. We might walk on the thick ice or grit it depends on the trekking season. The entire walk is just kept descending to the campsites. There is no tea house, our crew makes a tented camp for the night also cooked the food in the own kitchen.

Your day starts with a cup of tea in your tented camp, the kitchen crew wake before sunrise on the Himalayas and offer tea your bed and look sunrise on the mountain with a ship of hot drinks. After breakfast trek starts with a descent on jungle and bushes to Thini village, the traditional Thakali village above Jomsom. We also visiting a tiny sacred lake called Dhumba which has to lure color also see birds drinking water on a freshwater pond. We keep waking down and cross the suspension bridge over the Kali Gandaki river then finally reached Marpha village, the village of the apple product such as alpine cider, apple brandy & apple pie.

The trail ushering east bank of Kali Gandaki River into the pine and juniper forest also passing Tibetan refugee camp and few small villages. This is a complete trekking trail and not crossing with jeep track. Most of the walk is flattern and lightly downhill with the breathtaking view of mount Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri. Also see the picturesque view of the villages Tukuche, Larjung and the large Buddhist monastery named Kamtsang Dargye Choekhorling. You will also see colorful birds on the trail with an enormous view of Kali Gandaki valley. In the evening have a glorious sunset view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna South and Nilgiri south from your bedroom window.

Once again great opportunity to see the sunrise on the high mountains then trek departure from Kalopani, the trail commence into the pine forest to Ghasa village. Now we walk along the Kali Gandaki River and the deepest gorge of the universal between Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri. You will have an attractive view of Rupse waterfall above the rice terrace before reaching Tatopani. A short side trip to hot-spring pool on the bank of the river. Here inclination your muscle soar and pain with relaxing into nature hot water.

Today the trail embarks with crossing an iron-bridge over Kali Gandaki river to Ghar Khola then uphill walk on a terrace which is dotted with the villages and the farms. Also passing heavy density villages such as Ghara, Shikha, Phalate, Chitre and finally arrive Ghorepani, the famous place for the overnight in Annapurna trek. We keep climbing from starting to end and then 1700 m altitude gain in a single day. Ghorepani village itself is a viewpoint and enjoy with fantastic views of the western Himalayas of Nepal like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna range, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, and Ganesh Himal.

Another important day in your adventure, wake up early in the morning then climb up to Poon Hill's viewpoint in dark with the help of a torch. Poon Hill viewpoint classified as the best view of Annapurna trek thus see mountain panorama from Dhaulagiri to Ganesh Himal including more than 20 snowcapped mountains. After pleasant and attractive sights of Himalayas turned back to Ghorepani. The trail commences climbing up into the forest of rhododendron, bamboo shrubs to Dobato via Muldhai viewpoint.

In the morning short climb to Muldhai viewpoint to see close view of mount Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhare, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, etc. Then trek back to Dobato, after breakfast we walking downhill into the thick forest of mixed vegetation. We reached Tadapani via Isharu with enjoyable walked in a pristine forest. After lunch trek continues on the forest where possible to see maximum birds on way to Kot Danda. Kot Danda, a beautiful place for overnight without any disturbance than nature.

Last day of the trek, short trekking to Ghandruk village, the traditional Nepalese villages where the travelers are allured by charming Gurung culture. The large villages have more than a few hundred houses with stone slate rooftop and it has lovely architecture. Also can visit the museum and take a picture with traditional Gurung customs and dress. We have the option of the private jeep or local bus to Pokhara, it takes roughly 3-4 hours including dust bumpy and blacktop road. After arriving Pokhara, room check-in then has leisure time in Lakeside Pokhara.

There is an option to get back Kathmandu from Pokhara, like a 20-minute flight and overland drive. The 20-minute flight is the best way to get back Kathmandu although cost U$D124. The standard and deluxe tourist bus depart daily from near to Lake Side Pokhara. It roughly takes 6-8 hours to reach Kathmandu, possibly to traffic along the drive but it is an absolutely scenic drive. On your drive journey bus stop along the way for the toilet, breakfast, and lunch.

Best season for Mesokanto Pass Trek

Mesokanto La Pass Trek, off the beaten route and the trail from Tilicho Lake to Mesokanto summit possible to have a lot of snow other than May to early December. The Turquoise Tilicho Lake is the highlights of the trek, the blue color of the lake and mountain shadow into the lake is most important. From June to November color of the lake is impressive and also possible to see mountain object into the deep lake. Also can see a lot of the wildflower is blossoming during this period. Masokanto pass trek is not possible from December to April due to a lot of snow and the icy path both direction of the Mesokanto pass.
