An easy trek route marked in Annapurna conservation area with stimulation view of nature and culture of the Annapurna region. Mardi Himal base camp route is newly explored trekking destination and recommended for all the age group plus novice. The less touristic Mardi Himal base camp trek begins from sub-tropical climate and takes you up to Trans Himalayan range. The narrow virgin trail offers diverse landscapes including walking into the dense mixed vegetation forest also can spot wildlife and get a striking view of gigantic mountains containing sacred Machhapuchhare, Annapurna range, and Manaslu. Mardi Himal route laying right above Annapurna base camp trek route on the ridge where the western Himalayas looks really closed by. Trekkers accommodate on basic tea house on the Mardi Himal trek, the lodges are typical and Gurung culture savor.

Daily itinerary

After eating hygienic fresh cooked breakfast at your hotel, short drive to Astam Danda and a trek starts throughout traditional stone villages with gentle climbing up on the lap of the Annapurna mountain range. The villages are the residence of different tribal Brahman, Chhetri, Gurung, and Magar. Entire walk contains gentle ascending also pleasant trekking into the thick rhododendron forest to Pritam Deurali. Stopping for lunch at Dhampus village and cultural excursion and get splendors to view of surrounding mountains.

The subdivision trail taking into the dense forest of oak, maple, hemlock, and rhododendron, bamboos where the woodpecker making a hole on the trees. Around 3/4 hours rambling thru the lush and green forest brings us to lunch places- hide and seek with high mountains. Most of the path to forest camp is mild climbing up than remaining trail strenuous climb to lower camp. The lower camp is Mardi Himal trek junction where the branch route leading to Siding and Landrunk village.


As the altitude gaining, landscapes also changing and leaving forestry behind us and entering the alpine zone and moving ahead close to mountains. From the morning follow nonstop steady uphill into in the lovely forest to Badal Danda which lateral means cloudy range. From the Badal Danda, a trail opened up widely and offering the best view of nearby mountains. Trek continues to High camp on the open ridge with passes seasonal animal hamlet. Can also clearly see Annapurna base camp route and Ghandrunk village. In the evening get stunning sunset on the mountains above the Modi valley and cloud-like airfield on below.
Overnight at lodge

Awaited day on Mardi Himal trek and after early breakfast at lodge leaving with water and energy bar to the viewpoint also called MBC. It is around 5/6 hours day trek including a steep climb up on narrow path and steeply descends on grit trail. As we are on trans Himalayas range, the route passes dwarf rhododendron and multiple mountain herbs also can easily see Himalayan Monal. Also possible to ramble on snow from December to April. Aside trek to Mardi Himal base camp provides best Mountain View of Annapurna south, Hiuchuli, and Annapurna I, Gangapurna, Machhapuchhare, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, and the diverse landscapes also can see Annapurna sanctuary on next to the long glacier. After reaching Mardi Himal Viewpoint trek returned to High Camp.

From High camp, trek retraces to Lower camp via Badal Danda, the trail approach grand mountain views. The route from High camp to Sidding village is descending through shrubby, dense forest and the cluster stone villages. From lower camp follow branch downhill trail, a path strolling on steeply down also walking on organic tea garden near to Sidding village above Mardi River. Sidding village is traditional Gurung village set on a base of the mountains and can see unspoiled Nepalese culture. You will be experiencing a home stay culture on Siding village and staying the host family.

It is around 3/4 hours trek to Ghalel where can catch the private jeep, to go Pokhara. The trail to Ghalel is pretty easy through villages, tea garden above the Mardi River and often arrive Ghalel then jump on the jeep after that 3 hours' drive to Pokhara.
