The Tsum valley is a new trekking route in Nepal adjoining the Manaslu Circuit trek. The trek still kept in restricted area because of cultural and Bio-diversity of area and minimum number of traveler should be 2 person to do trek in Tsum valley and Manaslu. Trek slowly being well-known because of unique and untouched culture, Bio- diversity, genuine Buddhist life still living in cave, superb landscapes from sub-tropical to high arid, massive glaciers, sparking lakes and view of superb Himalayas.
The trek start from the sub-tropical, along the reverse of Bhudi Gandaki river, passing through the typical Nepalese villages, cultivate farm, amazing scenery of lush and green, stunning waterfalls, hot springs, temple and monastery. As we continue trek and ascending the higher, we walk through forest and crossing over wooden washed bridge is life time experience, we often spot wild animals and birds. Once we reach at Tsum area, we will see their untouched and unique culture as they living and practicing Buddhism in cave and their ancient monastery is amazing. The area is surrounding by high Himalayas. Then we continue trek to Larkye La Pass, smooth trail leading us through villages and encounter the life style of people regards on elevations. Along the trail we often see old chorten which is amazing and monastery such as lho Monastery. Syalla is amazing places to see high Himalayas including Mt. Manaslu, Hiuchuli and numerous other peaks and landscapes. The trail keep ascending along the river passing villages called Samagau, Samdo, Dharamasal and then finally our effort goes for Larkye La Pass. The summit present great view of Himalayas, glacier and lakes then descending into the forest to Marshyandi valley and drive to Beshi sahar from Dharapani.
Daily itinerary
Any time on your arrival, we receive you from Tribhuvan international airport Kathmandu. Then we transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After completing the room check-in process, we give you details about the Manaslu and Tsum valley trek and assist to arrange trekking gears.
Day 01: Kathmandu - Dhadingbesi - Soti Khola (900 m/2952 ft)

The drive starts early morning from Kathmandu to Soti Khola, the public bus departure from Machhapokhari bus station. As soon as Kathmandu leave behind starts to see panoramic Mountain View then enjoy your bus ride in the countryside. The bus stop Dhading besi for the lunch then drive resume on the bumpy dusty road till Soti Khola.
Day 02: Soti Khola - Machhi Khola - Dobhan (1260 m/4132 ft)

The trek starts after breakfast and passing through in the forest, villages, gorge with a great view of landscapes, waterfall and dotted villages the mountains.
Day 03: Dobhan - Jagat - Philim (1650 m/5412 ft)

From today entering the Manaslu conservation area as well as entering on a restricted area. We follow a gentle uphill path and passes Yarubesi and Jagat where we will check Manaslu and Tsum valley trekking permit. The trail contains boulder formation, gorge, waterfall, and attractive mountain villages also crossing iron bridge over Buri Gandaki river.
Day 04: Philim - Lokpa - Chumling (2360 m/7740 ft)

The trail is pretty easy till Gampul junction where Tsum Valley and Manaslu Larkya la pass path broken-down. From route confluence steady climbing up to Lokpa bottom of Ganesh Himal range. Trek onward into the dense mixed forest with ascending up and crossing a suspension bridge to Chhumling village. The typical village is located on the bottom of Siringi Himal.
Day 05: Chumling - Dho - Chhokang-Paro (3032 m/9944 ft)

From Chumling village level trek route onward to Dho, enjoy with lovely greeneries scenery and stunning waterfall foot of Ripchet village. Traditional Buddhist temple en route also Buddhist flags decorated the trekking route. After Dho village a trail rapidly climbing on grassy mountains to Chhokangparo. Upon arrived ridge, it offers dramatically mountain scenery and picturesque landscapes.
Day 06: Chhokang-Paro - Rachen Gompa - Milarepa Cave - Nile (3360 m/11020 ft)

From today, we doing the trek in the wider valley. The gentle trail passing through dense cluster ancient villages between giant hills. As the trek continues in the valley, you will be surprised to come to cross the Buddhist sites. Those Buddhist sites are very impressive because of its untouched and ancients sites. We visit historical Milarepa cave where Tibetan poetry Milarepa descript Tsum valley is the heaven of the earth. We often cross the river by suspension and wooden bridge to the last village of Tsum valley, Nele.
Day 07: Nile - Mu Gompa (3700 m/12136 ft)

The gradual up ascend goes along the river passing ancient Tibetan stupas in yak pasture. As your trek ascends higher, you will be welcomed by massive snow-capped mountains. Mu Gompa is the monastery where all the locals' monks practice Buddhism. The Monastery has 2 parts, upper and new building have room for the trekkers and visitors. The old compartment is for the monks are the lama and discipline practicing Buddhism. After booked accommodation Mu Gompa side trek to nunnery monastery which is 200 m above the Mu gompa.
Day 08: Mu Gompa - Buri - Chhokang Paro (3032 m/9944 ft)

Wake-up early morning to see sunrise over the Himalayas and trek along the river, passing a villages and visit Rechen Gompa, A nunneries Gompa which is look after by female monks. Then trek continues passing villages to Chhokang-Paro
Day 09: Chhokangparo - Dumje - Gompa Longdang (3200 m/10496 ft)

Our trek starts after breakfast from Chhokang-Paro and the trail descends with great view of valley to Dumje. Then gradual-up trek continues along the river in the dense forest to Gompa Longdang. We often encounter wild animals, birds etc.
Day 10: Explore the valley or trip to Ganesh Himal Base Camp (4200 m/13776 ft)

Today we hike to Ganesh Himal Base camp. After breakfast we starts trek from Monastery with pack-lunch. The trek goes in the deep forest with roaring of animals and singing birds. Ganesh Himal Base Camp is surrounded by snow-capped mountains in 360º degrees. After taking photographs, retrace to Gompa Longdang.
Day 11: Gompa Longdang - Dumje - Ripchet (2900 m/10496 ft)

Trek descending through dense forest to Dumje then gradual up trail leading to Ripchet. This village is very typical then other villages till now there is no lodges and guesthouses. The villages is build in one single row on the top of the ridge. The villages is stand on foot of Ganesh Himal II and the villages offers exceptional view of Sirangi Himal, Ganesh Himal, Buddha Himal and deep valley with Chumling and Chumchet villages.
Day 12: Ripchet - Lokpa - Phewa (1840 m/6035 ft)

You will see amazing sunrise view on the Sirangi Himal. Then trek starts descending in dense forest, passing Lokpa and Nyak Phedi after that follow gentle trail in the gorge to Phewa.
Day 13: Phewa - Deng - Bhiphedi - Ghap (2500 m/8200 ft)

The trek starts after breakfast, we have gentle trail, it passing through deep gorge, forest and villages. As trek continues, you cross the suspension bridge and ascend up to Rana gau and get stunning view of waterfall. Eastern bank of the trail lead to Sarong Gomba but our trail goes southern bank of river to Ghap.
Day 14: Ghap - Namrung - Lho Bazar - Shyala (3410 m/11184 ft)

Our trek starts after breakfast. The trail goes throughout Gurung villages and in the dense forest to Namrung village. It is an exciting and interesting trek where possible to hear the roaring of deer and birds into the deep jungle. Onward from Namrung, the trail is gentle up on the middle of the apple orchid and old-style mountain villages. You will have close Mountain View from Sho village then passes Lho village also stop to sights Ribum monastery. The ahead trail to Shyala is slightly climbing up into the pine forest to Shyala village. Around 10 basic guesthouses are available plus gorgeous sights of panoramic mountain view.
Day 15: Shyala - Pungyen Gompa - Samagau (3517 m/11535 ft)

You’ll see an amazing sunrise over the Himalayas including Mt. Manaslu then trek begins. We follow easy route till confluence trail of Sama village and Pungyen Gompa.
If your physical fitness is well, highly recommend side trek to Pungyen gompa (4230 m). Pung-gyen Gompa is one of the isolated areas on Manaslu region but it offers a really close view of rugged walled mountains, glacier and Buddhist monastery in peace and harmony mountain terrain. The Pungyen gompa route is not that hard including short steady climbing up and then mostly flatten on huge yak pasture also sights yak and wild animals. From here remaining route to Sama is downhill and flatten on foot of the Himalayas.
Day 16: Acclimatization Day

Today is acclimatization day at Sama, there are few options to spend a day around the Samagaon. We advise you to utilize your day with ascending a couple of hundreds more than sleeping elevation. Please kindly go through below sentence for the details of a detour around Samagaun.
Tough Hike: Highly recommend the hike to Manaslu base camp (4820 m), also advice set-off from the lodge with sufficient water/soft drinks as well as do not forget to pack energy bar.
Manaslu base camp hike takes around 6/7 hours to and fro Sama. A path to Manaslu base camp is steeply up on the sloppy mountains aside of large Manaslu glacier. The Manaslu base camp route offers a breathtaking view of the panoramic mountain vista with wider valley as well as a picturesque view of Birendra Lake.
Easy Hike: This easy hike takes you around the village, monastery, and Birendra lake.
Day 17: Samagau - Kermo Kharka - Samdo (3740 m/12267 ft)

The trek starts after breakfast and the gradual up trek goes along the Budi Gandaki River with a stunning view of Mt. Manaslu. After crossing a suspension bridge, short ascends bring us to Samdo village, the last village before crossing Larkya La Pass. The villages are very tiny with a merge of Tibetan and Nepalese culture. You’ll get superb sunrise and sunset view from the village.
Day 18: Samdo - Larkya Bazar - Dharamsala (4480 m/14694 ft)

You’ll see awesome sunrise view on the nearly massive peaks then trek starts. The trek starts on yak pasture with semi-mountains landscapes. After crossing a suspension bridge and short ascends take us at a junction known as Larkya Bazaar which is used to be trade center between Tibetan people and local people. The trek continues climbing- up with an exceptional view of Giant Mountain and north side of Mt. Manaslu to Dharamsala.
Day 19: Dharamsala - Larkya La pass - Bimthang (3890 m/12759 ft)

Today is one of the tough, challenging and exciting day in entire your Manaslu Tsum valley trek. As it is a hard day, we need to starts trek early morning from Dharamsala. The trails ascending on off-beaten track with a view of the high Himalayas with a deep valley. As you ascending higher the Himalayan view gets closer and closer to us. The trail continues, pass stunning frozen lakes on bottom of the mountains and the trail became tougher as we came close to summits of Larkya La Pass because rapidly gaining of altitude in short period. The summit is located at the ridge between the base of two massive giant peaks and it is decorated by multi-color of Tibetan flags. After spending some time at Larkya Pass and taking photographs, trek on down with the superb view of mountains, lakes, huge glaciers. The trail is often slippery from summits to the bottom but more slippery in springs. As we trek descending, we back at lush and green at Bimthang. Bimthang is located at the base of the massive Himalayas and it offers awesome sunrise and sunrise view of Himalayas.
Day 20: Bimthang - Goa - Tilche (1940 m/6378 ft)

Bimthang, itself viewpoint offers a breathtaking view of Surrounding Mountains above Ponker Lake glacier as well the north face of Mount Manaslu. After breakfast trek begins from the village and follows downhill path thru heavy mixed rain forest of rhododendron and pine also passes local tea shop example Goa, Surti Khola then finally arrive Tilche village. While trekking into the conservation area possible to spot monkey, birds, barking deer, etc.
Day 21: Tilche - Dharapani - Besisahar - Kathmandu (1350 m/4428 ft)

We have an hours trek to Dharapani after that drive towards Kathmandu. We jump on the jeep from Dharapani, a scenic drive offers picturesque sights of a thundering waterfall, deep gorge and villages then pass rice terrace to Besisahar. Ahead Besisahar to Kathmandu road condition is slightly less bumpy than early 3 hours drive but facing more traffic. Upon arriving Kathmandu bus station, transfering to your hotel.

Manaslu and Tsum valley is two different areas in Gorkha district but nearby. The hiker can combine Tsum valley trek and Manaslu circuit trek in a single journey which takes around three weeks. The trekkers need to buy four trekking permits to do Tsum Valley and Manaslu trek also the documents should buy before starts the trek. All these trekking passes are for a single entry. Conservation area fees constant across the near but Manaslu and Tsum valley restricted permit cost based on the month. From beginning of September to last week of November consider the best time of the year for trekking to Tsum Valley and Manaslu Larkya La pass thus 8 days Tsum valley permit cost U$D35 and 7 days Manaslu region permits cost U$D70 other than that U$D50 for Manaslu region and U$D25 for Tsum valley.
