The out and it over land trip take all the measure touristic attractions places in Tibet. Your tour starts from Kathmandu driving along the Bhotekoshi river with lush and green landscape. After sort-out, the immigration drive goes in the ravine and get mesmerizing waterfalls to Nyalam. Onward from Nyalam, your journey continues on 4000m/13120ft above sea level. The country is amazing of the people lifestyle, the massive mountain above 8000m including Shiashapangma, Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and numerous other peaks. You will be visited at Rongbuk, Shigatse, Gyantse, Sakya and finally Lhasa. All the city has amazing monasteries from different sects of Buddhism. Than Lhasa is the home of the Tibetan Buddhism where you will visit Potala palace home of the all the former Dalai lama which as initially by Sangtsen Gompo in 637 than walk around Barkhor Street, Jokhang temple, Drak Yerpa, Norbulingka, and other monuments and visit Tashilhunpo Monastery and Panchen lama palaces. Along the tour, you often doing 5000m or some less pass and the pass provides spectacular views of plateau and majesty Himalayas. The beautiful Yamdrunl lake and frozen glacier make your journey more interesting.

Daily itinerary

From Kathmandu 8 hour drive to Kerung which is the first port of Tibet after complete the customs procedures. The drive starts early morning from Kathmandu then make the first stop at Trishuli Bazaar for lunch then the second break at the Rasuwagadi immigration. The Chinese vehicles change once cross the Bhote Koshi River then driving up to Kerung village for overnight.

Spare day in Gyerung village, an extra night at Kerung will help you acclimatize with the high altitude. In fact, you do easy hiking probably climbing a tiny hill near to the city, thus that makes your body ready against the high altitude on a remaining journey.

From Kerung, the drive begins uphill on the zig-zag unpaved road then leaving the vegetation behind, the mountain appears close by. Once crossing the pass entering on the Tibetan plateau which provides a close view of Paikhu tso, mount Shishapangma, and sacred Gaurishanker. After lake drive on a good road with a detour on viewpoint to Tingri village, can sights magnificent view of the Mount Everest and Makalu.

The journey on the mountain desert begins after breakfast, en route of Shigatse visiting Shakya monastery, around 30 km out of friendship highway. The monastery has great value for Buddhist, entire today journey offers a panoramic view of Himalayas including Border Mountain like Mount Everest, Cho Oyu and several other above 7000 snowcapped mountains. If the time permitted visiting large Buddhist temple Tashi Lhunpo monastery which was found in 1447 Ad, the iconic monastery is highlights of Shigatse.

We set-off from hotel then nice walk on the large Tashilumpo monastery, the tour leading over high passes with exposing an exceptional view of the room of the world and mountains. We stopping at Gyantse then explore historical city Palkor Monastery and Kumbum stupa. After that drive provides excellent scenery of turquoise Yamdrok Lake and Karola glacier to Lhasa city.

The first day of Lhasa city sightseeing, the day tour starts after breakfast at the hotel. You are visiting three important places in Lhasa city and enjoy to walk across the lovey Tibetan street. Potala palace is also known as Dalai Lama palace or residence. It is a great architecture monument built in 637 AD by King Soongtsan Gampo and since 1994 listed in UNESCO world heritage sites.
Jokhang temple, another important Buddhist religious site in Lhasa city where we can see mixed architecture like Nepalese and authentic Tibetan. The large monastery was found in 652 AD by great Tibetan empire Soongtsan Gampo. Enjoy to see prostration by Tibetan follower around. Then buy Tibetan handicraft and shopping on cultural Barkhor alley.

The Lhasa city sightseeing continues today as well and visiting following places in Lhasa including Norbulingka monastery, Sera Monastery, Drepung monastery. First short drive-out of Lhasa city on foot of mount where Norbulingka is located formally known as summer places of Dalai Lama. Then visiting Drepung monastery where large Buddhist follower is practicing Buddhism. After lunch drive to Sera monastery where around 10000 monks are practicing also possible to see monks debating garden of the monastery.

Lhasa city to Tingri distance is roughly 500 km, the drive goes thru Gyantse city, Xigatse town, Lhatse village to reaching Tingri village. The whole drive offers a view of majestic mountains and arid landscapes of the roof of the world.

Old Tingri is the cultural town where can see nomad life, Rongbuk temple is 70 km far and ascends up 600 m which takes a 2-hour drive. Rongbuk temple offers the best view of Mount Everest especially stunning sunset with together Mount Cho Oyu. After lunch side tour to north Everest base camp which is only 8 km/5 miles away.

It around 7/8 hours' drive in the mountainous county to get back Gyerung village.

After breakfast drives to Rasuwa Ghadhi and stay on the line for the immigration process, our Tibetan guide assist us to complete formalities. Upon cross, the Bhote Koshi river put arrival stamp on your stamp in Nepal side. Then jump on the bus and drive towards to Kathmandu thru Dunche and Trishuli Bazar.
