Hindus believed Gosaikund lake is abode of Lord Shiva and Gauri. Thousands of pilgrims visit sacred lake during a full-moon festival in August. The mythology of lakes is create by lord Shiva by his trident. From December to April lake is on frozen form and rest of other month is sparking. The lakes is located at north of Kathmandu at ridge. Gosaikund lake Trek start from Dunche rapidly climbing up throughout the forest and passing a few villages along the trek. As we climbing higher the breathtaking Himalayas views of Manaslu, Annapurna range, Ganesh Himal, Langtang range and numerous other peak can be seen. The area is inhabited by known as a highlander people called Tamang, Sherpa, Helmo and their unique life style. The trail is blossom of multi-colour wild flower and make excite to see wild animals and the area offers rare red panda.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu 1350m. Overnight at Hotel

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu – Dunche 2030m, 7hrs by driving. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 04: Dhunche – Sing Gumba 3330m, 4-5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 05: Sing Gumba – Lauribinak 3920m, 4-5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse. 

Day 06: Lauribinak – Gosaikund lake 4380m, 4-5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 07: Gosaikund lake – Gopte 3440m, 5-6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 08: Gopte – Melamchi Gau 2530m, 5-6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 09: Melamchi Gaun – Shermathang 2500m, 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 10: Shermathang – Kakani 1600m, 4hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 11: Kakani – Kathamndu, 6hrs driving. Overnight at hotel.

Detail Itinerary

Detail Itinerary of 12Days Gosainkunda Lake Helambu Trek.
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu 1350m/4428ft.
On your arrival at Kathmandu Airport you will be picked-up by our official representative then drive to hotel.
Overnight hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu valley Sightseeing.
Your guided city tour will start around 9am. You will be visited Hindu temples and Buddhist sites which are reflect of local culture and traditional of Nepalese society. Then meeting with your trek guide/leader an evening in your hotel lobby.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu – Dhunche 2030m/6658ft, 7hrs drive.
The drive starts from Kathmandu through beautiful landscapes and mountain views from Kakani. Drive descend through middle of farm and villages, crossing the river to arrive at Trishuli Bazaar. Drive resume ascending and passing through Kaliskasthan, Mulkharka then arrive at Dhunche.

Day 04: Dunche – Sing Gompa 3330m/10922ft, 4-5hrs Trek.
The trail lead on cultivate farm and across the stream with short climbs up hill throughout the forest. Often passing a teashop along the trek to Sing Gompa. On afternoon go to visit cheese Factory.
Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 05: Sing Gumba – Lauribinak 3920m/12857ft, 4-5hrs Trek.
Our trail continue on gradually up through beautiful forest of pine and rhododendron to Cholang pati where we have breathtaking view of Himalayas. Then we climb up steady on yak pasture and shrub all the way to Lauribinak. We have superb mountain views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Langtang.

Day 06: Lauribinak – Gosaikund 43830m/14366ft, 4-5hrs Trek.
The trail ascent on all the way to ridge where we have a Sakyamini Buddha statue and we have a breathtaking views of Himalayas with valley. Then path goes gradual up passing a many tiny lakes and finally reach at Gosaikund.

Day 07: Gosaikund lake – Gopte 3440m/11283ft, 5-6hrs Trek over the Lauribina La 4610m.
The trek route ascend northern side of the Gosaikund lake, crosses moraine and glacier passing a few lakes then finally reach at summit of 4610m. Now we descent on rocky path to Phedi. We keep descending on small path goes through scrubs of bamboo to Ghopte.

Day 08: Gopte – Melamchi Gau 2530m/8298ft, 5-6hrs Trek.
The trail goes descend in the forest from Ghopte, we often do up and down then finally arrive at Tharepati. Trek continue descending throughout dense rhododendron and pine forest to Melamchi Gau.

Day 09: Melamchi Gaun – Shermathang 2600m/8528ft, 5hrs Trek.
The trail descend to Melamchi Khola, crossing over bridge and ascent through cultivate farm to Tarke Ghyang which is largest Sherpa and Tamang village in Helambu. Now gentles descend through beautiful green forest to Shermathang.

Day 10: Shermathang – Kakani 1600m/5248ft, 4hrs walk.
The trail continue gentle descend through forest, often seen Jugal Himal and and amazing landscapes of valley then finally reach at Kakani.

Day 11: Kakani – Kathamndu, 4-5hrs driving.
Descending to Melamchi pool then drive along the Melamchi khola to Kathmandu. The drive continue along the Melamchi river and  scenic drive offers superb view of landscapes. Then passing a Palanchowk, Dhulikhel and finally reach at Kathmandu.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Departure.
Regarding to your international flight schedule, we will be transferred you to International airport.

1Small personal sized first-aid kit with blister treatments such as mole skin, band aides.

Your guides will have more extensive medical gear, but you should have the basics for general use.
