Everest Classic Trek
is the classical trekking route to the heart of the Everest region which was used by the Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary in their Mt. Everest expedition in 1953. It is one of the popular trekking trails in the world, which offers a combination of natural, cultural and high mountains. This trekking trail provides the opportunity to the trekkers to explore the landscape of the whole Khumbu and Everest region, green forest with rare wild animals and birds, lush valleys with the spectacular view of the giant world tallest mountains such as the fantastic vistas of the mountains like Mt. Everest (8,848 M) the tallest mountain of the world Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Pumori, Thamserku, and numerous other peaks as well as the culture and tradition of the ethnic Rai and Limbu in sub-tropical and Sherpa community in the alpine. The traditional route of Everest base camp trek begins from Jiri or Shivalaya after 7/8 hours' drive from Kathmandu. While driving to Shivalaya you will be enjoyed to see the natural beauties of the landscape, typical villages and fantastic Mt. Vista and raft on the Bhote Koshi river. Once you start your walking from Jiri you are overwhelmed with Nature's beauty as well as the untouched culture of the ethnic inhabitants. En route, you pass through the terraced green farm, beautiful rhododendron, and pine forest, numerous ethnic settlements, valleys with the amazing view of the mountains and surrounding landscapes. The hiking to the Kala Pattar-the the perfect viewpoint of Everest, Tengboche monastery is other remarkable features of the Nepal Everest Base Camp trekking route. The best time to go for the Jiri to Everest base camp trek is from mid-March to May and September to Mid-December.

Daily itinerary

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu international airport receiving by your trek guide with fresh wreath then transfer to your hotel. Your trek guide stays standby at the airport with your name on the signboard. After arriving the hotel have own time until official meeting an evening.

A drive ahead to Dhap village can be arranged privately, shared jeep and the ordinary bus. Public bus and shared jeep departure an early morning from Chabel Chowk Kathmandu. It is a whole day drive from Kathmandu to Dhap village, a journey that offers beautiful Mountain View, rice terraced, meandering Sun Koshi River and dotted countryside's. We are driving on jarring dusty and paved roads. We often stop along the highway for the meals and toilet. The drive until Ghurmi is on lower elevation then drive upwards on subtropical climate zone to Dhap Bazar.

The first-day Pikey peak trek trail contains up and down thru the forest and villages, so trek continuously on dusty jeep path descending to Sigane village where can see mixed ethnic groups. Often walk on the rough road and also possible to follow the walking trail on the ridge and bushes. As ramble into thick bushes can encounter types of birds and also get the view of diverse landscapes. On arrival Japral Gomba can see greenaries setting on the bottom of snow capped Numbur peak and mountain range. A small village is occupied by the Sherpa tribe and has a beautiful monastery.

We slightly climbing up throughout rhododendron forest, from February to May rhododendron blossoming in Rainbow color. Also possible to encounter Himalayan monal, one of the colorful pheasant. Before entering the dense rhododendron forest stop for a cup of tea at Bhulbhule village and admire the stunning view of landscapes and Himalayas on the far distance. There is no proper residence beyond teashop on the long ridge unless passes seasonal yak herders but often meet yak on the forest. Also, walk a side of lineup ancient Mani wall and shattered stupa. Then walking on a grassy hill to Pikey base camp with sights exceptional view of Everest region. Few traditional accommodations are available at Pikey base camp also have a small cheese factory.

An early morning follows gently up a path on the yak pasture ridge to the Pikey peak summit. The twin Pikey peak is strewn with Buddhist prayers flags. Pikey peak is famous to see glorious sunrise on Himalayan range including Mount Kanchenjunga in the far east and Annapurna range in far west with diverse hilly landscapes plus mount Everest. After watching the sunrise on the panoramic mountain range, trek descends to Jase Bhanjyang and stop for the breakfast. The trek onward with little ascending to ridge then trail contour inside rhododendron forest to Junebesi via Taktor village. Junbesi village is one of the beautiful Sherpa villages on Everest base camp trek also can see a stunning view of Numbur Himal.

A trek starts and towards the Nunthala (Mani Dingma) village, hike on the beautiful shrubs pasture with gentle climbing on the grassy hill. The path provides colorful landscapes diverse in lush and greeneries valley. Upon arrival at Sailung Danda, it delivers breathtaking Mountain View and distinct landscapes series. A short descend through bamboo shrubs brings us to beautiful Sherpa village, Sailung and resume walk descending to Gonpo Khola and short ascend to Ringmo village where we join with Phaplu/Salleri route. We then steeply climb up to Takshindo La Pass and discover the ancient Buddhist monastery. On way to the camp sturdy descending into the pine and rhododendron forest also get picturesque photos of the cultivated valley.

We walk through colorful villages of different ethnic group's community then walking down on the millet and maize farmland to the bank of Dudh Koshi River, the Gokyo Lake is a resource of the river. Upon crossing the suspicion bridge uphill footpath starts and about 40-minute trekking reach Juving village. Around here feel steamy because the elevation dropped to tropical till Khari Khola. Now steady climb up to Khari Khola village also visit sacred Pema Namding monastery before the lunch break at the village. Further trekking to Buspa village also steeply uphill through cultivate landscapes and traditional water mills for grinding grains.

We set off from the lodge then keep climbing into the forest to Kari La pass (3180 m) via Kharte village. A route is filled-up with local tea shops and water and soft drinks are available throughout the camp. Kari la pass has few tea houses and felt mountains are surrounded. From here follow flatten trail on the mixed vegetation forest o Paiya village on the foot of the large boulder. The path towards Surke relatively easier than before lunch mostly flat to Chutok La then descending on grit path to Surke village. Enjoy to see attractive Lukla village and meandering Dudh Koshi River from Pakhepani. Small Sherpa hamlet Surke set right below Lukla airport.

Follow the scenic path to Phakding village, from Surke gentle climbing up to Chheplung where the trail joins from Lukla. Dramatically the route became crowd and come cross with more trekkers who flew Kathmandu to Lukla. We continue our hike further up through Thado Koshi, Ghat and finally arrive Phakding. Beyond Chheplung Everest classic trek route has more Buddhist flavor like rock are painting and carving/sculpture, a lot stupa, Chorten, painted mani wall, prayer wheel and fluttering 5-color Buddhist flags.

We hiking to Namche Bazar, a trail goes by along impressive riversides and forest of rhododendron, Pine and Magnolia. A month of March/April/May entire this forest looks colorful because of the blossom of the distinct flower. The saggy suspension bridge makes an easier for the villager and trekker's crossing the Dudh Koshi River. We pass several traditional Sherpa villages and Everest Classic Trek permits checked-in at Manju where the Sagarmatha National Park begins. Trek continues by passing Jorsalle village then reaching the confluence of Dudh Koshi River and Bhote Koshi River at Larja Dobhan where we cross Hillary suspension bridge. Now trek resumes ascending uphill into the dense forest to Namche Bazar also have the first glimpse of Mount Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse from the viewpoint. Arriving Namche village after 6-7 hours uphill trekking from Phakding.

Our acclimatization day en route of Everest Classic Trek and we do a side trip to Hotel Everest Viewpoint which is a beautiful viewpoint. We have to climb steeply up to Everest View Hotel, throughout the route offers a superb view of the mountains and picturesque Namche Bazar. You have excellent sights of the highest peak of the world Mount Everest (8,848 m) along with beautiful Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Tabiche, Thamserku, and Kangtega. Also possible to extend the trip to twin Sherpa village Khumjung and Khunde then visit a monastery where can see the skull of Yeti. After all, return to Namche Bazar.

We begin trek walking throughout the Namche Village, following a flatten path from the end of the Namche Bazar. Trekking on the wide path passing several white-painted Buddhist stupas also enjoys great mountain panorama to Kyangjuma village. A trail led downhill to the bank of the Dudh Koshi River, Phunge Thenga and can see prayer wheel driven by water. From here sharp climb up on the rhododendron forest to the Tengboche monastery. The large Tengboche monastery set on the top also gets a superb mountain view of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Kangtega, Taboche, etc. Also, attend monks' evening prayer at Tengboche monastery.

In the morning see glorious sunrise on Mount Everest then after breakfast, the trail does downhill into the rhododendron forest via Deboche to Imja Khola. We passing the nunnery monastery and reincarnation monks' private monastery at Pangboche. Pangboche village has huge potatoes farm bottom of Mount Ama Dablam. The further trailhead to Dingboche village on the large meadow via Samar village then arrives quaint Sherpa village, Dingboche.

Another acclimatization day during our Everest Classic Trek, several side trips can do from Dingboche Village. We suggest you choose Nangkartsang Viewpoint for a day trip which is a rapid climb to 5000 m above sea level. The viewpoint offers an excellent view of Mount Makalu, Island Peak, Ama Dablam with turquoise glacier lake, and the large alpine valley. After achieving the goal-reaching summit returned to Dingboche village.

The trek begins after breakfast, short ascend bring us little ridge and take a picture of ancient Chorten with mount Ama Dablam. Trailhead Duglha with a gentle climb up on the moraine of Khumbu glacier. The strong climb on the rocky trail to Duglha la pass that exposes grand mountain view also visits an old-style cemetery of Everest summiteer. Then about an hour walking on the moraine to Lobuche village.

We start trek earlier than any other day because of after arriving our camp Gorakshep side trip to Everest base camp, the highlights of the voyage. Our hike continues onto the glacier against the cold breeze and follows the flatten trail till Lobuche Pass. A further route to Gorakshep village is onto the moraine where maximum grit, shingles and stony. We eat early lunch upon arrival at Gorakshep and keep luggage in the room. Trek commences to Everest base camp along the Khumbu glacier and gets the nearest scenery of glacier and Khumbu icefall. During the post-winter season, many expeditions are settled to create history. After achieving the goal to Everest Base Camp retrace to Gorakshep for overnight.

Kala Patthar 'Black Mount' stands 5645 m above sea level and it offers a closed view of the massive Mount Everest above the large Khumbu glacier. A trail to Kala Patthar Viewpoint is climbing abruptly on the ridge but it offers spectacular snow-capped mountain sights along with the huge glacier valley. After taken pictures returned to Gorakshep then 5 hours trekking to Pheriche village via Dughla. We follow a downhill trail on the cold wind with relishing great mountain vista.

After breakfast trek begins from the lodge, we have the option route to reaching Namche Bazaar. On your preference, your Everest base camp trek guide takes you through Phortse village and Mong-La pass which you have not been. On the other hand, it can also directly trek Namche Bazaar via Tengboche monastery. A pretty long walk and the distance covered around 19 Km via Tengboche monastery and 21 Km via Phortse village. An average walker needs a solid 7 hours to reach Namche Bazaar.

Leaving from Namche Bazar following downhill path into the pine and rhododendron forest to Hillary Bridge, the tallest suspension bridge en route Everest trek. Our trek continues downward by the riverside through Jorsalle, Manju, Phakding till Ghat village. After the lunch walk towards Lukla village with gentle climbing into the little forest and tea shops. Lukla has a café, bar, pool house luxurious drink shop also very good hot shower.

In the morning short walk to Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla. We take an earlier flight to Kathmandu, a 45-minute Lukla to Kathmandu flight considers as scenic flight. It offers Ariel Mountain view and meandering river with colorful diverse landscapes of the countryside. On arrival Kathmandu airport transfer to your hotel. Stroll around Thamel Street and alley then evening we host farewell dinner.
