The basecamp of Mount Everest is a favorite adventure holiday destination in the Himalayas. The world adventurous folk are dragging to the Everest region and each year's number of hiker are increasing. Everest base camp trail is marked east of Kathmandu and the easiest access is a 35-minute flight to Lukla airport then trekking on the Buddhist land in the windy Khumbu valley.

Everest base camp trek itinerary begins with thrilling mountain flight to Lukla. Everest Base Camp Trek in spring:
First peak season of Everest base camp trek is a spring (March/April/May), this three month have a mild climate and also mount Everest expedition period. Note: We recommended that all the trekkers should arrive Kathmandu one or two days before the schedule of Everest base camp trek also advise to have 1 or 2 days extra after your EBC trek because Lukla to Kathmandu flight often canceled or delay due to the bad weather. The extra day helps you to continue your international flight.

Daily itinerary

In the morning short drive to domestic terminal of Tribhuvan international airport in scheduled flight. A 35-minute scenic mountain flights to Lukla, offer mountain vista, picturesque villages and magnificent landscapes scenery. Upon arrival, Tenzing Hillary airport introduces with porter before starts the walk to Phakding. The porter take-care your big luggage and you will hike with day-pack throughout the Sherpa villages with descending towards the milky river where we join with classical Everest base camp trail which begins from Salleri/Bhandar. It is quite an easy hike from Lukla to Phakding which cover 9 km distance, the trail is decorated with Buddhist flags and inscribed words.

The trek begins after breakfast and follows an uphill trail into the rhododendron forest as well throughout Sherpa villages. Phakding to Namche bazar trail is filled with few suspension bridges and the carving stone of Buddhist script. After Monju entering the Sagarmatha national park, the trail ascends up steeply into the rhododendron forest with the breathtaking view of the blue and white Dudh Koshi and towering snow peak. Also, see the first glance of Mount Mount Everest from Thamdanda and then trek continues to Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazar is a business hub for the local and tourist were possible for shopping and also verities of the restaurant are available for good foods. Also, have a weekend market where native come to sell local products from lower villages. Most of the trekkers spend 2 nights at Namche Bazar for acclimating with high altitude.

Our Everest base camp trek itinerary allows us to spend extra night Namche Bazar for acclimatization with cold temperature. Can spend a day roaming around Namche Bazar and visiting Sherpa museum as well monastery. But advice to do short and easy trek up to Everest view hotel or Thame village which help you for respiration while going up the next day. The day trek also provides panoramic mountain vista of the surrounding Himalayas.

The day begins with glorious sunrise on the mountain then leaving from Namche with climbing up on stone-stair to the museum. Then follow an easy trail which offers a magnificent view of the Himalayas with picturesque Tengboche monastery in the foothill of Mount Ama Dablam. From Phungi Tenga steeply climbing up to Tengboche monastery (3,870 m) room check-in then after while visiting a monastery. The monastery has foodprint of founder monk, believed to flue from Rongbuk monastery Tibet. Each day at 15:00 hours the monks do daily ritual with playing Tibetan instruments might sit down and watch. Also can see superb sunset on Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse before getting dark.

Set-off trek from Tengboche and the trail drops into the rhododendron forest with passes Debuche crosses another suspension bridge on the Imja Khola and climb up with overlooking massive mount Ama Dablam. Pangboche, the village of Everest summiteers, have reincarnation monk in private monastery. We also pass mani wall to reaching Samar village, offers an exquisite mountain view. From Samar village follow gradually up on the meadow then finally arriving Dingboche village, the last permanently human settle village on Khumbu region. The Dingboche village is another large village also spending another night before towards Everest base camp.

Another acclimatization day on the Everest base camp trek, advice to climb Dingboche viewpoint right above the village. We follow uphill Everest base camp trail also pass colorful old stupa then take branch trail on the ridge to Dingboche viewpoint. The 4900-meter peak is stunning vantage point, in clear day get a glimpse of mount Makalu above Imja valley and excellent view of Mount Ama Dablam with surrounding mountains view as well wide dry valley. An afternoon strolling around the Dingboche bazar.

Trek towards and walking on moraine of the Khumbu glacier then stop for a lunch at Duklha before steeply climbing on a crumbling trail to the memorial of a climber at Chupki lhara. The Lobuche village set at foot of Lobuche peak on the Khumbu glacier also Chola pass trail meet up. Often get glorious sunset on the mount Nuptse and Pumori from a guesthouse. As we are reaching at 16,000 ft might feel less oxygen and cold temperature during the night.

The most exciting day on Everest base camp trek also difficult as well. The first part of walk towards Gorakshep village, the highest elevation guesthouse in the world. From Lobuche moderate trail with easy climbing up on the Khumbu glacier also offering the best view of mount Pumori to Gorakshep.

Upon arrival Gorakshep room check-in and have lunch before leaving to EBC. The Everest base camp route from Gorakshep is on the moraine including crumbling, pebble with little ascend in the windy. The Everest base camp (5364 m) provides a spectacular view of blue Khumbu ice fall also can see the tented camp in spring where Everest summiteer doing acclimatization for Mount Everest summit. After a while at base camp retrace to Gorakshep for the overnight.

Another beautiful day in Everest base camp tour, early morning ascending to Kalapatthar (5645 m) for the best view of Mount Everest. It is physically demanding trek in the morning from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar, the steeply up climbing is pretty much worth and it presence magnificent mountain vista plus close sights of Mount Everest. After taken picture trek back to lodge and then eat hot breakfast. We retrace trek with huge descending on moraine of Khumbu glacier then passes Lobuche and Dughla after that finally arrive Pheriche. It is a huge descend from Gorakshep to Pheriche and possible to have good sleep in the night.

We keep descending from morning to Pangboche village then after crossing Imja river follows gradually up against a trail to the Tengboche monastery. Then steeply descend to Phungi Thenga, on a bank of a Dudh Koshi river. After crossing the wild glacier river climbing up through pine and rhododendron forest plus villages to Namche Bazar with viewing the Himalayas.

A last day of the Everest base camp trek as returning to Lukla village also where trek began a few days ago. Since the morning we keep descending through forest, villages also crossing suspension bridges before arriving Lukla. From Tado Koshi gradually climbing up till Lukla. After arriving Lukla take a hot shower and then in the evening Everest base camp successful party with a crew.

In the morning taking 35-minute mountain flight to Kathmandu, upon scenic flight drops us Kathmandu airport transfer to your hotel. In the evening Musical adventure trekking arrange fare-well dinner at Nepalese restaurant where can watch live Nepalese culture and eat authentic Nepalese meals.

Essential Information

​In Regards to Lukla Flight

Lukla airport is set on a small hilltop with hedged by the mountain. The length of the airport is 528 m runway where an only small plane is the mode of primary transport which mean twin otter and Dornier can allow to flight regularly. As the airfield situated above the Dudh Koshi valley and foot of boulder the little climate change also affect the flight attendant then result come out the flight might delay or canceled. If the flight is canceled due to the bad weather forecast, it will be post phone for a few hours or the next day. In case of flight delay or cancel other option is available to take a helicopter back to Kathmandu which might cost U$$250 to U$$400 per passengers. The helicopter has the capacity to carry 4/5 passengers each trip.


​Everest Base Camp Trek Accommodation

En route of Everest base camp tea house trek, both normal and luxury accommodation is available. The local guesthouse and lodges are built with mud, stone and wood also have well insulated. We arrange twin sharing basic accommodation during the Everest base camp trek where two single bedrooms are available also comfortably two trekkers can sleep. In regards to single private room need to pay single supplementary charge although group joining the journey.
All the guesthouse room has acrylic mink blankets but we advise you carry own sleeping bag stay away from the cold temperature. Especially Lobuche and Gorakshep have few lodges with a limited room where most of the travelers most probably share the bedroom with other folks. Along the EBC trek, both English and Asian common sharing lavatory are an available corner of a building.


​Best season for Everest base camp trek

We have four seasons a year in Nepal: spring, monsoon, autumn, and winter. Two dissimilar seasons is recommended for Everest base camp trek post winter (March-April-May) and pre-winter (September-October-November). Autumn is the busiest trekking season for EBC route, there will be a clear day with mild temperature and can see few waterfalls below Namche Bazar. You will see breathtaking Mountain View without any layer of foggy and smoke. Then spring is another prefer Kalapatthar trek, a route up to 4000 m will have plenty of blossoming wildflowers from March to May. Plus can see Mount Everest expedition team on Khumbu glacier with multiple color tented camp.


​Meals on Everest Base Camp Trekking

During the Everest base camp trek, meals can choose from an open menu where a wide range of Nepalese, Indian and continental meals are available. Allow selecting any meals from a menu including rice items, potatoes, noodles, chapatti, toast, pancake, egg, Spaghetti, Pizza, Various Soup, Curries, Apple Pie, Mo Mo etc. Most of the lodges have meat items on the menu but we recommended you not to order any meat items as meat should bring from far distance which means not a fresh in the mountains. Our Everest base camp standard package provides three meal a day breakfast, lunch and dinner with a cup of hot drink. Basically, dinner and lunch eat the same guesthouse where you spend overnight and lunch will be eaten at a local restaurant in the midday. The meals taste in the mountains are really delicious also containing fresh garden vegetable and preparing in a hygienic kitchen but still not taste not like back to home and cities.
