The bus station is only 36 Km distance from Kakarbita immigration and from here roughly 60 Km to New Jalpaiguri. Kathmandu/Pokhara to Birtamod is an overnight bus drive that takes around 16 hours. Then from Birtamod again 10 hours drive over the sloppy mountain to reach Teplejung. The regular night and day bus running from Kathmandu to Birtamod after that also shared jeep and buses regularly leaving to Taplejung.
