Daily itinerary

We set-off after breakfast then a drive ahead westwards on Prithivi Highway to Besisahar. The journey is escorted by our experienced crew also your trek guide often explaining interesting things on the bus ride. Once reached the west hill of Kathmandu, Nagdhunga it smoothly heading downhill through the cultivated land also has a pleasant view of the Himalayas. Then our drive continues along the Trishuli River till the commercial town of Mugling, the confluence of Trishuli and Marshyandi River. Soon after leaving Mugling arriving at Dumre where again the road apart and follow the branch road into the small town and paddies terraced to Besisahar. Besisahar is a commercial town, the drive road connects to Manang village. After arriving Besisahar room check-in then do some short and easy activities nearby. Hot shower and internet are available at the hotel then dinner and sleep.

Today is the first day of the classical Annapurna circuit trek. From Besisahar follow our trail east bank of the Marshyand/Marsyangdi River with avoiding the jeep road to Bulbule village. We then trek through the rice terrace and cultivate farmland to Ngadi village where stopping for the lunch. From Ngadi about 20 minutes walking on the motor road after that take an uphill trekking trail which brings us to Bahundanda. It has pleasant scenery of the thriving waterfall, terraced and dotted village on the foot of the mountains. Bahun Danda used to be very touristic a few years back but since the jeep road connect to Chame and Manang. Only a handful of trekker's passing this classical Bahun Danda.

Chame village located on the Marshyandi valley that approaches a good view of the waterfall and boulder. We crossing the suspension bridge and avoiding the jeep route then following the hiking route. The hiking trail let you have a pleasant walk with admiring the lust and green varied landscapes of Marshyandi valley. Upon arriving at Tal village, the Manang district begins still walking foot of the boulder. We encounter different birds on the bamboo bushes till Kotro village and then about 40-minute ahead trekking to Dharapani. Dharapani village where the Manaslu circuit trek and Annapurna circuit trail combined.

We follow our Thorong la pass path east bank of the Marshyandi River with passing several series of the stone cairn and buckwheat field at Tache village. We crossing suspension over the Marshyandi River and arriving Danakyu where we sight Rainbow trout fish farming and apple orchid. We then steeply climb on the dense forest to Timang village with a view of majestic Manaslu. Onward to Chame village we often walk a side of jeep road also bypassing as we have an alternative way. Chame is the administration Centre of the Manang where has a high school, hospital, police station, bank, etc and gets a beautiful view of Lamjung Himal above the valley.

A trail to Upper Pisang mostly rambles on the jeep track because does not have any other option. Pretty easy hike on the narrow canyon with gradual altitude gain to Dukur Pokhari. It is a dramatic and scenic walk where the scenery change every hour often leading into the pine forest, apple orchid, and also trail cross arc cliff above the Marshyando valley. On arrival, Dukur Pokhari gets close-up Mountain View of Annapurna II and Paungda Danda which also known as getting way to heaven. Then crossing Marshyandi River and following the trail on the dwarf tree-lines to Upper Pisang. Upper Pisang provides an extraodinary view of the Annapurna mountain range and the Marshyandi valley.

Glorious sunrise view on the Annapurna massif then after breakfast leaving from the lodge with following upper trail via Gyaru and Ngawal village. We finally reached alpine terrain that occupied with more barren land and surrounded by glaciers and mountains. We taking a higher path because the lower valley route is combined with a jeep track and the upper trail offers a superiors view of the mountains and the valley. We also have a cultural excursion of the mountain tribal who have very close-up Tibetan culture at Gyaru (3,720 m) and Ngawal (3,680 m). Also, climb higher than sleeping place (Manang) that let you have well acclimatized again high altitude. The trailhead to Gyaru village steady climb on the switch-back path then light descend on the sloppy mountain to Ngawal village where the Nar Phu trek route joint. The trek continuous with gradual descending and rejoin the lower trail at Mungji/Munchi village. From here following mainly flatten trail with discovering numerous of the inscription stone as well as stupa and monastery to Manang.

The extra day at Manang village for accustom to high altitude before the final step to the Thorong La pass. Manang village is one of the tourist villages en route of the Annapurna circuit trek. From Manang trekking to Yak Kharka, the distance covered 11 km and 4-5 hours hiking on the wonderful mountain terrain. The distance from Yak Kharka to High camp is 9 Km and about 4-5 hours trekking for average trekker's. Trek continuous east bank of the River on the highland. It is a gentle climb and passing Lader where have few accommodations for travelers and a safe drinking water station. Still, easy ascent and altitude rising gradually. After crossing the river little climb bring us to Deurali tea shop and a short walk take us to Thorung Phedi (Basecamp of Thorung la). We make a break probably eat lunch also bakeries items are available. We carried trek to high camp with steeply climbing on the unstable rocky path to high camp lodge where one tourist standard lodge is available with capacity for 200 people. After arriving room check-in then a side trek to the first tea shop for altitude acclimatization. As we reaching near 5000 m above sea level and 4 Km far from Thorung La pass, surrounded by many high mountains and trekking peaks.

We are going to cross the Thorong la pass and it would be toughest day on the Classical Annapurna circuit trek. A trek also starting earlier than other day because of normally chill wind at the summit after 10 am. Trailhead to Thorong la on the grit path although most of time of the year covered by snow. From high camp to Thorong la summit path steeply climb and approaches tremendous view of the glacier and mountain above the valley. The pass rewards grand Mountain View and it marked with sign boards. Descending from the pass to Muktinath is quite straightforward on the rocky, pebble and grit. Basically 11 km downhill complete in three and half hours duration. Compared to last night huge altitude changed and also comfortable accommodation with private bathroom. After breakfast leaves the lodge descending steeply on barren hillside via Jarkot village and Jhong village to Kagbeni. The entire today trail continues on semi-arid Kali Gandaki valley, the landscapes and local culture is resemble Tibetan. While preparing lunch at Kagbeni, side excursion on Kag monastery and cultural excursion on the medieval alley. While walking on the bank of Kaligandaki River where can easily find the ammonite. Also waking against the strong wind after midday to Thini Village, a trail provides a picturesque view of Jomsom village and organic apple orchid farm plus can see Dhaulagiri massive, Nilgiri Himal and Tilicho peak.
Trekking to Thini village via Lupra is another beautiful hiking route in the lower Mustang trek. This route open for avoiding the vehicle route, from Muktinath, follow a trail on the south on the sloppy plateau and crossing Lupra pass (3772 m) then short steeply descending to Lupra village with crossing Panda Khola. About a 30-minute walk from Lupra village brings us Kali Gandaki corridor on the bank of the Kali Gandaki river and a continuous trek aside of the river to Jomsom. A trail to Thini village separated from north of Jomsom, and it about 50 minutes uphill walk through apple orchid. This option covered about 17 Km distance from Muktinath to Thini village.
Another trekking option is to follow the classical trail along the jeep track with passing Kagbeni and Eklebhatti to Jomsom village then finally arrive at Thini village. This route is one of the shorted other than bus and jeep ride to Jomsom from Muktinath.

Thinigaun is the best viewpoint to vision the Dhaulagiri massif, a trail to Kalopani continuous east bank of the river with enjoying a pleasant view of Marpha and Tukche village. A downhill path marking west foot of the Nilgiri and mostly passing organic apple farm and several villages including Tibetan refugee camp at Chhairo. Further, trek continuous east bank of the river and stopping at Sauru village for the lunch. The trek resume on the level path into the pine forest and passing Kokhethanti to Kalopani. Kalopani has the option to have a comfortable bedroom with a private bathroom and also offer a majestic view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, and Baraha Sikhar, etc.

One of the scenic day trek on the classical Annapurna circuit trek. It is completely pleasant hike from mountainous zone to deep valley. A path to Tatopani (Hot spring) is gentle descending throughout the gorge, village and grain terraced. On the way to campsite passing world deepest valley, Kopchepani that made by Annapurna massif and Mount Dhaulagiri. Also get picturesque view of Rupse Waterfall above Kaligandaki River. After room check-in walk to hot spring and dip in the natural hot spring that help to relief your muscle pain.

After bathing in the hot spring our trek ahead to another beautiful village Ghorepani. About 7-8 hours non-stop uphill climb through beautiful Magar villages and rhododendron forest brings us on the ridge, Ghorepani. The blossoming of rhododendron and magnolia makes a trail special in the spring season. Ghorepani is the busiest tourist place where the various trekking routes joint Annapurna circuit trek, Annapurna base camp trek, Khayer lake trek, and Poon hill trek. Travelers stop Ghorepani because of the Poon hill viewpoint is an hour from here.
