Chandragiri Day Hike from Hattiban
If you looking a long day hike then should start Chandragiri day hike from Hattiban which will be around 4-5 hrs up and down hike to Chandragiri with covering 11 km distance then extra 5km, if trek down to Thankot from Chandragiri. leaving early morning from the hotel with driving west direction of the valley and get a superb view of monkey temple. an hours drive will drop us at Hattiban bus stop. The trek begins with a presetting magnificent view of Chobar then as climb higher colorful Kathmandu valley will be seen. The trail from Hattiban to Chandragiri has a stable trail with lots of up and down. It takes 4-5 hrs from starting of a hike to Chandragiri temple. Before reach to Chandragiri hill, must climb up Champa Devi temple and Bhasmasur hill. Bhasmasur hill is the highest elevation viewpoint in your day hike and offers a great view of both valleys (Kathmandu and Kulekhani with Himalayan range). Completely no shops along the trail should carry sufficient drinks and foods from the hotel. Chandragiri is calm places with a superb view of wider valley and mountains after lunch 2 hrs steep down walk to Thankot or 10-minute cable car ride.

Chandragiri Day Hike from Matatirtha
From Matatirtha to Chandragiri hike is shorter and easier than from Hattiban. After breakfast onward to Matatirtha by bus or taxi which takes an hour from Thamel then Chandragiri day hike begins. Matatirtha to Chisopani route is an ancient trail to enter Kathmandu valley from India-Hetauda-Kulekhani-Kathmandu. The trail is steep uphill through the jungle and gets an awesome view of the west side of Kathmandu. From Chisopani again ascend up on the stair to Chandragiri temple. After spending some time get down by hike or cable car ride to Thankot then drive back to the hotel.

Hiking Equipment
You can hike with light hiking paint and t-shirt, while walking-up probably sweat a lot, better to carry easy dry shirt or t-shirt. There is lots of the up and down pebble trail, should have proper trekking boot or sneakers. Chandragiri is quite windy and cold, should take windproof or fleece jacket.
