Introduction


16 Days Upper Mustang Trek
Mustang- The last forbidden kingdom in Nepal, had close till 1991 for foreigner, but same year October Nepal Government declared Mustang is open for foreigner but has to go through the restricted permits, so very first less number of trekker's been the Mustang but then information spreads over the world after that slowly number of trekker's increased, now days nearly 1000 foreigner visit a years. Trekking thru in the Mustang, great genuine life time experience walk thru the ancient villages ,people life style and culture of mountain people which is influenced by Tibet then explore the 500 years Gompa and Caves with splendid mountain views with barren plateau valley. Trek start from the world deepest gorge between two mountain above the 8000m then continue on the Kali Gandaki valley, Kagbeni, Chaile, Ghami, charang then reach a walled city of Mustang – Palace of the local king or tribe leader, who is the head of the Upper Mustang, in summer he stay at Palace but in winter come down at lower part. Their biggest festival fall in May, called Tiji.

Day 04: Pokhara – Jomsom – Kagbeni 2900m- 4hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 05: Kagbeni – Chele 3100m- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse

Day 06: Chele - Syangboche 3800m- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse. 

Day 07: Syangboche – Ghami 3510m- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse. 

Day 08: Ghami – Charang 3560m- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 09: Charang - Lo Mangthang 3850m- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse. 

Day 10: Explore the Lo manthang- 7hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse. 

Day 11: Lo Manthang – Drakmar 3800m- 6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse. 

Day 12: Drakmar – Chele 3100m- 6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 13: Chele – Jomsom 2800m- 6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 14: Jomsom – Pokhara 25minute by flight.Overnight at hotel

Day 15: Pokhara – Kathamndu 30minute flight. Overnight at hotel.

Day 16: Departure.
Note:The above itinerary is a guideline and standard pattern which we provide you. Trek itinerary can be modified according to your interest, time and requirements. The trip cost will be according to Deluxe, Standard, Budget and group size so please kindly provide us your details for a customized program. For your information Jomsom flights are notirious for being delayed to and from Pokhara by few hours or even canceled for a day. Due to uncertain climate change that occurs often at Jomsom, you are advised to have extra days for your stay in Nepal

 

Detail Itinerary

Detail Itinerary of 16Days Upper Mustang Trek.
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu 1350m/4428ft.
On arrival at Tribhuvan International airport, our official representative will be meet you then transfer to hotel.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing.
Today is a day to explore Kathmandu valley. Our tour guide will take you around the Kathmandu's touristic sites which are listed in the UNESCO world heritage sites.
Boudhanath Stupa: One of the loargest Buddhist stupa in the world.
Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath is most Hindu shrine, located on the banks of the Bagmati River where dead is creamate daily.

Kathmandu-Durbar-Square: Ancient Royal Palaces and home of the living Goddess, Kumari.
Swayambhunath: It also known as the monkey temple in the valley, from here you will get a panoramic view of the Kathmandu valley. The Swayambhunath temple bends 2religions Hindusm and Buddhism.

Day 03: Kathmandu – Pokhara 850m/2788ft- 7hrs by drive.
A 7hrs scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, gives you amazing view of white snow-cappe mountain, white water rafting, cultivate landscape, typical Nepali villages. As we drive and reaching to Pokhara, you will be welcomed by massive Himalayas: Annapurna ranges, Machhapuchhare and sparking Phewa lake.

 Day 04: Pokhara – Jomsom – Kagbeni 2900m/9510ft- 25minute and 4hrs Trek. 
A 25 minute scenic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, offers us breathtaking view of snow-capped mountain from both window of aircraft. After landed at plateau, we meet with rest of trekking crew who is going to carry luggage entire trek. The trek starts by passing a Jomsom and it continues foot of mountain by Kali Gandaki valley with great view of high plateau mountain desert,valley, mountains to Kagbeni. At afternoon we walk around the ancient Sakya monastery and typical mountain villages which is made of clay, stone and mud with unique roof.

Day 05: Kagbeni – Chele 3100m/10168ft- 5hrs Trek. 
The trekking trail lead up an open valley on east bank of Kali Gandaki river slight climb up and easy level walk brings us at Tangbe. As we continues trek by the Kali Gandaki river we passing Chhukang village, ancient stupas, caves on cliff, graves and around 40minute ascends take us to Chele.

Day 06: Chele - Shyangboche 3800m/12465ft- 5hrs Trek.
Our trek starts ascend up on the arid from Chele village, passing through cliff, barren meadows, yak pastures, ancient stupas before reaching to Samar village. As we continues trek, switch-back climbing on the aok trees, tea shops with spendid view of high Himalayan mountains, deep valley, high plateau to Yamdo La Pass, the pass is decoreted by multi-colour of Tibetan flags then descends to Shyangboche.

Day 07: Shyangboche – Ghami 3510m/11510ft- 4hrs Trek. 
Our trek starts gentle up to ridge of the Syangboche and walking through animals shed, animals pasture, tea shops at Jhaite. We often encounter the wild Jackal around this plateau. We continues trek climbing up to Nyi La Pass and then descends to Ghami.

Day 08: Ghami – Charang 3560m/11675ft- 5hrs Trek.
our trek start after breakfast through down the village and crossing Ghami khola the trail climbs up pass the Hospital, Greenhouse, then perhaps longest and impressive Mani wall in Nepal and take a look at grey and red cliffs, local people believe in 8th century padmasambhava killed the demon and then blood spray over the cliffs. From here resume the trek climbs up to Choya La pass(3870m/12693ft) the route leads you gentle descend to Tsarang village and then visit the huge five storey dzone and Monastery and then apple orchid. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 09: Charang - Lo Mangthang(3850m/12628ft) 4rs Trek.
we descent to Charang chu Canyon then trek continue with fine views of mountain and barren plateau ,slightly climbing up to reach at ridge from here we see the view of the walled city of Lo with dry hill on the Tibet borders. Then short descent cross a stream and gentle ascend into the plateau of lo- manthang. This is the fine destination of your treks where you will see Jhampa/Lhakhang(future Buddha) Gompa, Thubuchen Gompa, Chodey Gompa and great opportunities to meet the local king and have a cup of drinks with then interesting conversation, before leaving from this village don't forget to buy the beautiful Souvenir, they claim brought from Lhasa, Tibet .

Day 10: Explore the nearby the Lo manthang 3700m/12135ft- 5hrs Trek.
Today we are going to explore the nearby eye-catching places such as John Cave- which is situated at rock inside the cave there are many participate rooms, Chhosar Gompa- is inside the cave and covered by slope mountain, Namgyal Gompa- is situated at a hilltop and play as an important role for local people, Ani Gompa- nuns look after then Gompa and nuns do the all rituals. After then walk back to Lo manthang.

Day 11: Lo Manthang – Drakmar 3800m/12465ft- 6hrs Trek.
Today, we trek on the upper trail while trekking we might encounter the blue sheep and some other wild animals, we will see the magnificent views of the Majestic Himalaya's, after crossing the streams ascending of dry pasture up to ridge called the Chogo La 4340m/14235ft then the trail lead you on level with delight walk to see the views after that descend through the wind trees to Ghar Gompa, this Gompa is related with Samye monastery in Lhasa Tibet, then trek descend continues to Drakmar.

Day 12: Drakmar – Chele 3100m/10165ft- 5hrs Trek.
we trek descends to Ghami village then ascend up to Nyi La pass then descend pass through the Jhaite and Syangboche and then climb up again to Yamdo La pass trail goes through oak trees on the pasture to Samare then heading down to Chele.

Day 13: Chele – Jomsom 2800m/9185ft- 6hrs Trek.
we start trek an early today because we have long day, we descend from Chele , cross the river and then walk through follow the river pass the Chusang, to Tangbe. After that shortly climb up then easy level trial lead us Kagbeni and have a lunch here then after nearly 3 hour's walk along the Kaligandaki river against the strong wind to Jomsom.

Day 14: Jomsom – Pokhara 25 minute by flight.
A 25minute scenic flight expose amazing Himalayan mountain views entrei your flight and you can have relax and chill day in Pokhara.

Day 15: Pokhara – Kathamndu 30minute flight or 7hrs drive 
A 30minutes flights offers view of Western Himalayan range to Northen Himalayan range to Kathmandu. You can have your own time to shopping for family and freinds.
A 7hrs drdive provides amazing landscapes, typical Nepalise villages and superb Himanayan ranges to Kathmandu. At evening you can have your own time for shopping for family and freinds

Day 16: Departure
According to your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the international airport.
