Introduction

Helambu trek is very famous for trekker's who is looking for a short trek with a beautiful scenery, amazing life style of the tamang and Helmo people which is quite similar to Tibetan culture. Helambu lies in the northeast of Kathmandu on the foot of Jugal Himal in Langtang national park. This trek offers spectacular mountain views of Annapurna range, Langtang range and Everest range on the far eastern. This trek is comparatively easier then any other popular trek. This trek leads on the lower elevation between 800m to 3600m, offering less tourists and less noise compared to Annapurna and Everest region. Climate is beautiful - cool and not too hot. This is a life time experience walk on rugged rocky path through dense forest and walking through grassy meadow, crossing the slow stream which is melted from the snow peaks , across a wooden and bamboo bridge. On the way we visit an old Buddhist monastery and Millerapa cave. We then get a view of the spectacular white snow peak towing entire valley. If you wish you can extend this trek to Langtang valley –"the valley of glaciers" via Gosaikund lake.
