Introduction

Renjo La Pass/Gokyo Valley Trek
Renjo la pass is newly open trekking pass in khumbu region. Trek will began after step in at Tenzing Hillary airport at Lukla 2850m, then trek continue up to Renjo La 5360m. The trek is adventurous but not challenging. The trekking trail goes through middle of Sherpa territory whom known as mountaineer. Where trekker's will get opportunity to see the life style of highlander people. The path climb up along the Dudh koshi river and passing the astonishing natural beauties, scenic valley, Monastery, cultivate landscapes, frozen lakes, glacier and moraine, breathtaking mountain views from Renjo La which is it self the view point- get the picturesque mountain views such as Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu and numerous other snow-peaks with beautiful Gokyo lake.

Once you reach at Gokyo valley the trek offers you the eye-catching lakes, giant mountains, moraine and glacier. All the lake is mesmerizing which has a seasonal images and colour. Nepalese people both Hindus and Buddhist has habitual believe since they knew about the Gokyo lake. On occasion of full moon which will be fall in September according to lunar calendar, people go to have a bath there, they believe after their dead will goes to heaven. Gokyo Ri/peak offers you breathtaking wide range panorama Himalayas it although tough to climb at Gokyo peak but worth it. Then trail descending on the yak pasture, shrub pine, encounter the flora and fauna such as musk deer and colourful pheasant which is national bird of Nepal. have your trek celebration at Namche- commercial town then retracing to lukla.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding 2610m- 4hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche 3440m- 6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 05: Acclimatisation Day. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 06: Namche to Thame 3820m- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 07: Thame to Marulung 4210m- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse. 

Day 08: Marulung to Renjo La Pass 5360m to Gokyo lake- 8hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 09: Rest in Gokyo and explore the valley. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 10: Gokyo to Phortse Tanga 3640m- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 11: Phortse Tanga to Namche via Khumbu village- 6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 12: Namche to  Lukla 2860m- 6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 13: Lukla to Kathmandu 35minute by flight. Overnight at hotel.

Day 14: Rest Day in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 15: D eparture.
Note: The above itinerary is a guideline and standard pattern which we provide you. Trek itinerary can be modified according to your interest, time and requirements. For your information Lukla flights are notorious for being delayed to and fro Kathmandu by few hours or even cancelled for a day.  Due to uncertain climate change that occurs often at Lukla, you are advised to have extra days for your stay in Nepal.

Detail Itinerary

The Detail Itinerary of 15Days Renjo La Pass Trek.
Day 01:Arrival at Kathmandu 1350m/4428ft.
Our office representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu. You will be transferred to your hotel.
Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley and pre-trek meeting.
Around 9am your guided tour will be start then take you in UNEECO listed world heritage sites.
Monkey Temple: It is lies on the top of hill in middle of Kathmandu. Itself is view point of Kathmandu valley. The temple is combine of Hindus and Buddhist. The temple offers wishing pond, Goddess temple, Monastery, beautiful statue of Manjushree, PadmaShambaba, Guru Ringpoche, . The main stupa is very beautiful well colourful painted. Hives of monkeys are around the Temple.
Bouddhanath Stupa: It is largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal. The stupa is very colourful and photogenic, around the stupa, so many Buddhist practising their Buddhism with Tibetan beads and praying wheels chanting the "Om Mane Padme Om". Tibetan souvenir shops.
Pashupatinath Temple: The one of the most important Hindus holy shrine in the world. The holy Bagmati river is follow through the temple and the cremate of dead body is on beside of river. The temple is from15/16 century some of them is older and you can see old architecture sculpture carved on stone and rock. So many many shadus and yogy staying.
Durbar Square: The tiny square offers you so many things, couple of Temple, statue of Monkey god Hanuman, Bhairav, Museum, old Royal palace, the temple which is made by one single tree, house of living goddess then get a bless from living Goddess "Kumari". Lots of Nepalese handicraft shops. Then around 5pm we will do pre-trip meeting at your hotel in Kathmandu. Introduce with your trek guide/leader then ask some frequent questions about your trip. We will also supply you trekking gear sleeping bag and down jacket and you need to provide us readable copy of your travel insurance policy.
After meeting your guide will take you at market to buy the trekking needed.

Day 03: Kathmandu-Lukla-Phakding 2610m8560ft-  4hrs Trek.
A 35 minute scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla will present you lots interesting scenery. Today you have a easy trail and short walk. The trail lead you along the river passing a streams, cultivate landscape, Buddhist relic, cross the villages of Chhuplung, Ghat then finally reach at Phakding.

Day 04: Phakding – Namche 3440m/1283ft- 6hrs Trek.
The trail is busy because of so many trekker's going up to EBC and we often meet trekker's descending from EBC. Trek continues along reverse of river, passing the alluring views of nature beauties waterfall, landscape, slope pine forest on the hill, amazing colourful Buddhists flag blowing in the air. After lunch at Jorsalle, cross over the suspension bridge which is flank of Khumbu region. Now you rolling on steady up but present great views of valley and further up from Tham Danda get first glimpse of Mt. Everest. Resume trek on steady up through pine forest up to Namche. The buzzing town in mountain almost every single needs available such as ATM, Internet, Bank, Medicare, International call, all trekking gears, star buck, bakery, bar etc.

Day 05: Acclimatization Day.
Now you are at elevation of 3440m and onwards to pass which is 5360m. for go further-up your body need to be used to with present atmosphere as you need to be fit you need lots of Acclimatization. That's' why you are climbing nearly 500m up then come down to sleep. Today your hike goes sturdy up on hill from Namche to Syangboche airstrip then Everest view hotel. From here get the marvellous panoramic views of Himalayas such as Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablem, Thamserku and numerous other snow-peaks and eye-catching Tyangboche Monastery. After that retracing to Namche.

Day 06: Namche – Thame 3820m/12530ft- 5hrs Trek.
Set off from Namche, take a southern trail which is trade trail between local people and Tibetan trader, who came in Khumbu region throughout the Nagpa la pass. Today the path goes smoothly up passing the few Sherpa village and wide arid valley and snow-peaks. Encounter the some wild animal musk deer, blue sheep, Lophophorus impejanus. After crossing river climbing up bring you at Thame- A village of mountaineers. they are seasonal employees in Khumbu region.

Day 07: Thame – Marulung 4210m/13808ft- 5hrs Trek.
You still walking route of trade along the river pass cultivate land of potatoes, tea shops, wide valley with wide mountains. You will often spot the Yaks and wild animals. Once you cross the river, leave the trade trail and turn north short climbing up to Marulung.

Day 08: Marulung – Renjo la pass 5360m/17580ft – Gokyo lake- 8hrs Trek.
Your journey start in early morning after breakfast because today is longest and tough day walk in your trek. The trail goes strenuous-up all the way to top. Often cross a streams, passing a lakes some time frozen, then walk on switch-back up goes on stone-stair to pass as you climbing up higher offering a more gorgeous mountain views. The path is quite tough but it is worth to do. The Renjo La pass is well decorated by colourful Tibetan praying flags. The Renjo La pass is view point and present enormous Gokyo valley and wide range of Himalayas such as Makalu, Mt. Everest, Choyu, Lhotse and various other mountains. You will take a rest and take a photographs of lifetime achievements, then the path goes vertical descent, on ice, pave, and then meadow beside the Gokyo lake to settlement. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 09: Rest in Gokyo and explore the Valley.
After succeed pass you deserve rest. Gokyo is lies on courtyard of Himalayas and just few metre above from Gokyo lake and few 100 m far from Nagzumla glacier. Relaxed and observe views of multi-colour lake and giant mountain. Then If you like to do some extra walk to 4th and 5th lake, the trail goes on moraine of glacier on foot of giant mountain and get extra-ordinary view of north face of Mt. Everest. It will takes 3/4 hrs by up and down.

Day 10: Gokyo – Dole4050m/13284- 6hrs Trek.
Today morning, you are going to climb up viewpoint called- Gokyo Ri or Gokyo peak. View point is not that much different than Renjo La pass but different viewpoint has different view. Normally all the trekker's go at viewpoint to see sunrise over the mountains. Around 2/3 hrs tough climbing up brings you at Gokyo peak. Gokyo Ri offers you breathtaking views of Himalayas with enormous glacier. Then retracing to Gokyo and further descending on Yak pastures passing a Machhermo, Luza then arriving at Dole.

Day 11: Phortse Tanga –Namche via Khumbu village- 5hrs Trek.
Now you are back in greenery, today your trail often take you up and down through the forest, village and yak meadow. While walking down from Mong la, will be seen Tyangboche Monastery with incredible Ama Damblem at background. So if you haven't seen Khumjung vailleg on day 05 then today you have opportunity to visit Khumjun village. Which will take nearly 1 hrs extra. Trek continue to Namche.

Day 12 :Namche – Lukla 2860m/9380ft- 6hrs Trek.
Your trek goes all the way down to Dudh koshi river then trail goes along the way of river passing the Sherpa village. Today you checking out from the Everest national park. After noon you will be at Lukla. Have a some celebration with your trekking crew and friends.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 13 :Lukla – Kathmandu 35 minute by flight.
In the morning fly out from Lukla to Kathmandu, transfer to hotel and check in. Now you can have a rest and relaxed. If you planning to do some other programme before get back to home. Lets us to know we will be happy to assist you.

Day 14: Rest at Kathmandu.
Today is free day in Kathmandu either you like to hang hang around Kathmandu youeself for shopping to friends and family.

15: Departure.
According to your flight schedule, you'll be transffered to the international airport for your onward journey.
