Introduction

Everest Three Passes Trek
The Everest three high passes trek is one of the adventurous trek among the other trekking trails in the Khumbu region and it is a very challenging and strenuous trek in the Everest region. Travelers who willing to do this trek must be physically fit and an experienced of trek. The trek combines green scenery from the sub tropical to the alpine forest, trekking though inhabitation of highlander people called Sherpa. Along the trail you will explore more than 500 years old Monasteries with ancient Buddhist inscriptions engraved on rocks. As the trek continue we pass the blossoming of colorful rhododendron makes the walk enjoyable and a feeling of paradise on Earth. Trekking on you encounter wild animals and will leave the greeneries behind and enter in alpine forest on to a wider valley. The view from here is awesome with massive snow-capped peaks and mountains surrounding you. Some of the virgin peaks are still not climb by climbers.

Everest three high passes, the Renjo La Pass, Cho La Pass and Kongma La, Trek starts from the Lukla airstrip, climbing uphill. Trekking along the Dudkoshi river brings you to the "Everest National Park" before reaching the gateway of Everest "Namche Bazaar". The trail continues through Sherpa village of Thamo, Thame, Lungden climbing up to the first Pass, known as Renjo La. From the ridge of the Pass you get a panoramic view of the Himalayas including 4 mountains above the 8,000M and numerous other well-kwon peaks. The trek continues to Gokyo valley, sparking Gokyo lake make your journey pleasant. Then we continue our trek to the challenging rocky pass known as Cho La Pass, trail lead us onto the Nagzumba glacier, then climbing up through yak pasture and rocky. Few hundred meter of the trail is very icy and rocky and rolling-rock from top. The top gives you breath-taking views of valley and mountains. Now trek continue to world famous base came" Everest Base Camp". Trekkers follow the steps of Sir Edmond Hillary and Gorge Mallory on moraine of Khumbu glacier to Everest Base Camp. Arriving at the Base camp is a life time achievement the trekker can be very proud to have achieved this. A strenuous climb to the view point at Kala Pather 5545m, present the superb view of Mt Everest which is 3km far. On the return trail at Kongma La Pass the view of Mt. Amadablam and Makalu(8480m) is amazing. As the trek continues along greeneries we visit one of the oldest Monastery at Tyangboche. Its then back trek to Namche, to relax for a day or two where one can communicate with the world via IT technology as wifi is available there. After its a retrace to Lukla and fly back to Katmandu.

Day 09: Rest day in Gokyo. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 11: Thangnak to Chola pass 5,420M to Dzongla 4830- 8hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 12: Dzongla to Lobuche 4,910M- 4hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 13: Lobuche to Gorak shep 5,180M - Everest Base Camp- 6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 14: Gorek shep to Lobuche 4,910M- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 15: Lobuche to Kongma La 5,535M – Dingboche 4,410M- 8hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 16: Dingboche to Tyangboche 3,865M- 4hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 17: Tangboche to Namche 3,450M- 4hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse. 
Day 18: Namche to Lukla 2,860M- 6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse. 
Day 19: Lukla to Kathmandu 35minute flight. Overnight at hotel.
Day 20: Rest at Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Departure.
Note: The above itinerary is a guideline and standard pattern which we provide you. Trek itinerary can be modified according to your interest, time and requirements. For your information Lukla flights are notorious for being delayed to and fro Kathmandu by few hours or even cancelled for a day. Due to uncertain climate change that occurs often at Lukla, you are advised to have extra days for your stay in Nepal.

Detail Itinerary

Detail Itinerary of 21Days Everest Three High Passes Trek.
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu 1,350M/4,428FT.
On your arrival at International airport, our official represantatives will be received you then transfer to hotel.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu valley sightseeing. 
Today you are going to visit interesting monuments in Kathmandu valley. Our knowledgeable guide you take you into the city of the god and goddess. 
1. Boudhanath Stupa: One of the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal 
2. Pashupatinath Temple: This Hindu shrine is located on the banks of the Bagmati River where dead is cremate daily.
3. Durbar Square: Ancient royal palaces and home of the living Goddess.
4. Swayabhunath Square: Also known as the monkey temple, from here you will get a panoramic view of the Kathmandu valley. The swayambhunath temple bends 2 religions Hinduism and Buddhism.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Phakding 2,650M/8,690FT- 4hrs Trek.
A 30 minute scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. At Lukla the porters will meet to carry the trekkers bag packs for the entire your trek. The trekking trail starts along the Dudh Koshi River, passing through the Sherpa villages of Chhupulung, Thado Koshi, Ghat and reaching Phakding. The view of Landscapes, Mountains, Tibetan word carved in rocks and multi-coloured Buddhist flags and other exciting sites along the trek makes it really interesting.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche 3,450M/11,315FT- 6hrs Trek.
From Phakding the trail continues along Dudh koshi river, ascending through the rhododendron forest, giant fir, magnolia trees, Himalayan pine & cedar forest with great view of the Kusum kangaroo Thamserku mountains. While climbing up through the dense forest we pass the view point where we catch the first glimpse of Mt. Everest. The trail goes steep up to the village of Namche. Namche is the trading town of the Khumbu region where people come to buy goods on weekend market.

Day 05: Acclimatization Day.
The trek is ascending up and the our is then. The trail leads to the twin villages Khumjung and Khunde, the most charming Sherpa villages in Khumbu region. As the trail ascends higher the view of the Himalayas Mt. Everest, Lotse, Taubuche, Cholatse, Thamserkuk, Kwangde, Khandeka and the gorgeous Ama Dablam is spectacular. The Hillary school and the 500 years old monastery where “Yeti skull” is kept since 1995. After lunch at Khumjung, the trail continues Khunde where we can visit another ancient monastery and the hospital which was funded by Edmund Hillary. On way back to Namche, we will pass the yak breeding farm, the Sherpa museum where we can still see the traditional costumes of Sherpa people.

Day 06: Namche to Thame 3,820M/12,530FT- 5hrs Trek.
From Namche the trail turn left from village fellow the trade route between Nepal and Tibet. The trek is a gradual up passing lush green forest, villages, monasteries with great view of the Himalayan mountains and valley. You may see wild animasl such as ders, mountains goats, colorful birds etc. After crossing a river, the trail ascends steeply up to the climber vilages known as Thame. You get sunset view on the Himalayan mountains.

Day 07: Thame to Marulung 4,210M/13,808FT- 4hrs Trek. 
Today the trail takes you through farming land, yak pasture by the river with more great views of the Himalayan mountains. The trek is a gradual up from Thame to Marulung. After cross the small wooden bridge leave the trade route then turn right ascending  reaching at Mirulung.

Day 08: Marulung to Renjo La Pass 5,360M/17,580FT – Gokyo Lake 4,790M/15,710FT- 8hrs Trek. 
Today is strenuous day to the Renjo La pass, ascending steep up through yak pastures and a stunning lake. On ascending the view of the Himalayan range and valley becomes wider and closer. Reaching the top of the Renjo La Pass, the view is spectacular sight of the giant peaks: Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu, Lotse, Mt. Makalu with the deep Gokyo valley, Gokyo lake and massive Nagzumba glacier. After spending some time on the top we descend steeply to Gokyo Lake.

Day 09: Rest Day.
Today is a day of rest and you can walk around the Gokyo lakes, Ngazumba glacier and moraine at your own pace. You can also do a short tough trek up to 5th lake which takes 5 hours to and fro.

Day 10: Gokyo to Gokyo Ri to Thangnak 4,700M/15,425FT- 4hrs Trek.
An early morning ascending steeply trek to Gokyo Ri gives you a spectacular sunrise view over the Himalayan ranges at 360º degrees. After spending some times on the top, you descend to Gokyo lake. After breakfast the trek continues walking on the moraine of Ngazumba glacier where you can hear the moving glacier under your foot steps. The trail lead us to Thangnak.

Day 11: Thangnak to Chola pass 5,420M/17,777FT – Dzongla 4,830M/15,840FT- 8hrs Trek.
Today is another strenuous high pass day, trekking steeply up through yak pastures and rocky path. The path continues ascending on pebbles and ice rock to the summit. From the summit the view of Himalayan range and deep valley is spectacular. There is also a beautiful sparking lake at the top. After spending some time at the top, the trail descends steeply down on frozen snow, rocky path to Dzongla with great view of Mt. Ama Dablam and Khumbu valley.

Day 12: Dzongla to Lobuche 4,910M/16,105FT- 3hrs Trek.
Today is an easy day, trekking to Lobuche. The trail takes you along yak pastures and foot of the Mt. Cholatse with more great views. On reaching Lobuche you will see an amazing view of Mt. Pumari and other peaks.

Day 13: Lobuche to Gorakshep 5,180M/16,990FT - Hike to Everest Base Camp 5,364M- 7hrs Trek.
Today is the highlight of the trek where you trek to Everest Base Camp for a life time experiences. The trek starts from Lobuche on along yak pastures and literal moraine of Khumbu glacier with great view of the Mt. Pumari, Khumbutse and some other peaks before reaching Gorakshep. After lunch at Gorakshep the trek continues walking on moraines to Everest Base Camp where you see the camps for climbers of the Mt. Everest summit. You will also see the massive Khumbu blue icefalls.

Day 14: Gorakshep to Kalapathar 5,545M/18,187FT to Lobuche 4,910M- 5hrs Trek.
Its an early morning trek ascending to Kalapathar at 5545mtrs to view the world highest Mt. Everest at 8848mtrs together with her sister Mt. Lotse, Mt. Pumari, Ama Dablam  with  many other Khumbu Himalayan peaks and Khumbu valley. After spending some times at Kalapathar you descends to Gorakshep for breakfast. Then the continues to Lubuche.

Day 15: Lobuche to Kongma La 5,535M/18,155FT to Dingboche 4,410m/14,465FT- 8hrs Trek
Today is another strenuous day for Kongma La Pass. From Lobuche the trail start with an easy walk on the Khumbu glacier. Today will be one more tough day. That’s way need to learn an early morning after heading off from the Lobuche the trail goes through on the moraine of Khumbu glacier then ascending up to Kongma la pass after reaching at the top spend some rest and for photograph of Himalayan and sparking lake then go descent to Dingboche.

Day 16: Dingboche to Tangboch 3,865M12,677fT- 5hrs Trek. 
The trail goes descend all the way to Pangboche often you will see the Tibetan sculpture rock, after the crossing the bridge trek continues in the forest after Diboche trail climbing up to bring you at Tengboche – best views of Mt. Ama Dable and see evening daily homage at 5oo years Monastery.

Day 17: Tangboche to Namche 3,450M/11,315FT- 4hrs Trek. 
An early morning see sun rise over the Mt. Everest and surrounding peaks. After breakfast walk descent through the rhododendron forest to Phunkithangak. After that climb up through the some tea shop in the jungle, might encounter mountain tahr and Danfe- the national birds of Nepal. after reaching Kangjuma the trail goes through descent easy to Namche where you will have internet, bakery etc…

Day 18: Namche to Lukla 2,860M/9,380FT- 6hrs Trek 
Today will be your last day of trek from Namche to Lukla. The trail descends through the lush green forest. Dudh Koshi river passing villages to the small mountain airstrip Lukla. As today is the last day of the trek there will be a fare-well dinner with the trekking crew.

Day 19: Lukal to Kathmandu 35minute Flight.
A 35 minute scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu gives you a great view of the Himalayan mountains. On arrival at Kathmandu you will be transfered to your hotel.

Day 20: Rest at Kathmandu.
Free tday for shopping souvenirs for family and friends.
Overnighta at hotel.

Day 21: Deparuture.
After breakfast according to your flight schedule you will be transfered to the international Airport.
